2014 Sedan or Wagon?
Hey guys, long time lurker, trying to decide between 2014 M5 and either 2014 E63 S sedan or wagon...
Wife is pushing for AWD since we live in the Midwest and both she and I have to make it to work, safety for the little boy etc.
I have always been a wagon fan but am concerned that if I purchase, resale/trade in might take an even bigger hit since it will be SO exclusive. Small market for a high test, pricey wagon.
Any thoughts/experiences? Vic, when you sold your wagon did you think you got a fair price?
Thinking palladium silver with black wheels over black leather for both.
Thanks,
X

I say go with the wagon. I've always loved how mean and aggressive the wagon looks, and it will look absolutely amazing in that color combo. If my wife didn't already have a 5 series wagon, i would of chosen this option, but instead I went with the S model sedan in palladium silver with black wheels on black leather.

The e63 wagons I've seen on the used market have been priced significantly higher than sedans. I don't know about how quickly they sell, but I don't see any red flags on value.

You will be able to haul them all around in the seday anyway, so the only reason the wagon would be more useful is if you are carrying a lot of stuff with you at the same time. My reasoning was that situations like this would be few and far between, and since it is just me in the car 90% of the time I should get the one I prefer to drive and look at. just my $0.02.

I have a 13' wagon and Love it. I find the cargo area fits more crap in it than my old SUV. Definitely easier to throw a big *** stroller in it and other crap than my wife's X3
I like the wagon as you don't see too many (although I'm rethinking this since I saw two E63 wagons at the dealer last time) and sometimes it's like you're driving a lambo or something, people who know what it is, freak out, take pictures, come up to talk to you etc!
I thought winter would be bad, but with Snow tires and driving normally, it was just as surefooted on the snow and ice as any other normal car.

I'm a big fan of wagons (and I dislike SUVs very much!) so I will order a 2014 wagon soon... I also like the fact that it's the rarest AMG model built (I've read that somewhere and it's probably true... I see more SLS that E63 wagons)!

+2 The open interior of the wagon enhances the demonic roar of the exhaust thus providing the driver with greater aural stimulation.
