Hmmm, don't know. There is a thread on another forum (B Boost) that makes it sound like you have to, but another person mentioned Weistech not drilling...don't know.

^^ yes but didnt u ask for a conservative tune only making 550whp ? most ppl with renntech, AMS, weistec kleemann are making 625-650+ WHP. maybe that is why u never experience any issues but then again ppl making 650+ WHP have also had NO issues so who really knows...

Are there any decent tunes for the E63amg twin turbo (2012) that are less than $2000.00. I know Renntech is good but it's around $3500.00. I was hoping to get a tune on my car that adds 100 hp or so for under 2 grand. Is this possible? Any possibility of hand helds coming out? I use to use a diablosport on other car and it was around 400 bucks.

If you are in Orange County, CA- benzworks in HB will do it in about 1 hour.

Check out Eurocharged. Solid vendor with great reputation and he is inexpensive. I think he is running a summer special for $1,000.

I use weistec tune... and I have issues with the tune.
CEL come up in total of 2 times in 2 weeks because its says
it is too lean. I use 2 code reader and come up with the same code.
I think weistec need to have revision in their tune to fix this problem.

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
I have had 5 cars tuned by Renntech, I have never had a tuned engine related problem! E63S 2014 coming next week, will be number 6.

Karl will you tune yours no matter what. What if you get the new car and its beyond your expectations. And Mercedes has fixed it up in a way that its remedied any short comings the previous car had.
It seems some people tune regardless .....not saying its good or bad. To each there own. I just think give the factory a chance

Thanks for the info, there is eurocharged dealer here in Boston, I think I might give that tune a try if I can still get it for $999.00. I'm not looking for crazy hp, just something to keep me in the 11's @ the Quarter mile track.

i wonder how the various tunes work with NON cls and NON e class M157s,
i havent really ventured into those threads, but i wonder if the tuners can identify what aspects of the S and SL /CL cpu is different than the E/CLS and modify our CPU to the level of the S/cl/sl
