M157 spark plug issues
Hi guys
I have recently tuned my e63 and I have done downpipes. My car has a eurocharge tune on it.
First I get the cat cell light coming on after a little while of driving which I believe will be sorted out soon by Jerry soon
When I am stopped at a robot the car feels as if it has a misfire. She idles very weird. Almost feels like she is gonna switch off.
Has anyone had these issues?
What are the symptoms of the spark plug issues?

Hi guys I have pick up this plug that was previously posted
My local dealer does not recognize the number 6706. But he suggests I use a platinum plug
Does anyone have the actual number on the plug?
Any advise would be appreciated

The car place is telling me around 4 hours labor to change the plugs in my twin turbo e63amg, I know it's tight in there but is that right? Seems like a lot of time just to change plugs. Maybe I won't do a tune on this car after all, it's pretty fast as it is stock, it's got the P30 Performance package on it.

An E63 owner in Miami had the following part#
12 12 0 038 507 / The plug has SIZKBR8A8HS written on it. It is an NGK plug sold by BMW.
I cannot confirm that it is the right one to use.
Renntech sells the plugs on their website for $44 each.
I have been told that it takes quite a bit of time. My dealer told me 2.8 hours.
That kind of stuff concerns me greatly and makes me wonder also about getting a tune. There is another thread on this and it appears most people have no issues. The increase in power is addicting they say

Thanks, I think I might wait a bit before doing this stuff as my car still has around 30 months warrantee left on it and I don't want to risk that, but ya the extra power would be nice, the car is fast as all heck right now, I can only imagine with a 100 hp tune what the car would be like. I wonder if gas mileage would go up a little, right now I get around 22 mpg on the highway, maybe if it were up around 25 it would help justify the tune even more?

I am planning to jump on the tune wagon
. I am in discussion with Renntech to go there for a day and do a dyno of before and after.
I am just concerned when I hear the issues of the dash lighting up and having to change spark plugs.

I have been running the Renntech tune for about 20 months now on the OEM plugs with no issues. Is Renntech advising on the colder plugs now for their tunes? I know there was a quality control problem with the OEM plugs in the early M157s that caused havoc for some on this forum but my dealership told me that I had the new plugs that were not part of the early bad batch.
Guess I need to call Renntech this week.
