Mechanics
New to MB and just ordered an E63 Wagon with no delivery date yet. I did a search but no definitive answer on whether or not MB mechanics need any special training (factory) or some type of certification to work on AMG vehicles? I know some GM mechanics are factory trained Corvette mechanics and wondering if MB has the same or if all MB mechanics can work on all the AMG vehicles?
Thanks in advance.

They do. I hope. There are senior amg techs who monitor dealers they r assigned to to make sure training is there. ****....all they need is a star diagnostic tool. Let see them figure out my 500

The MB dealers seem to have pretty high standards who they let in the garage from what I've seen so far so I wouldn't worry too much. These cars are so well built that you more than likely will not need any warranty service and for oil changes I have a really good MB Specialist independent place near where I live and they will do an Oil Change for $40.00 including the filter as long as I bring in the oil which I get at Walmart for $23.00 per 5 quarts. I understand the dealers get $150 to $200 for a oil change so this is a good savings plus I really trust these guys.

Some dealers are licenced as "AMG Performance Centers". I sure hope that in these dealers some folks received a special training. Otherwise any dealer can service an AMG. They are not more complicated than "regular" MBs, as long as they have the correct tools and Work Information Sheet to do a specific job.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Read my post, I said it costs $23.00 per 5 quarts, comes in a big jug, gotta get two jugs and then I've got a couple of quarts left over. Total cost for my oil change is $86.00 and after 4 oil changes with the 2 quarts saved every oil change it will only cost me $40.00 total, that is if the place keeps doing it for $40.00 which I doubt, everything always gets more expensive, this seems too good to be true to last.
