That would be a great option, but how is it used exactly? My LX570 requires me to press the lock button 2 times and then a long press 3rd time.

Yes that is the system. Made by Midcity Engineering. Any user experiences to share?

Considering they provide an option that will allow the car to steer and brake itself, it's kind of silly they don't provide one for remote start.

Would rather not have to leave my office to start it, and hop into a warm car when it's 20 below!

You will be "preferring" for a very long time, as Mb does not offer one nor will they.

I have done many, many, many remote starts on Mb vehicles. Midcityengineering.com makes the smartkeystarter. It is plug and play and has no issues. They license it to viper and compustar which also have smartphone interfaces allowing you to start your vehicle from anywhere that has cell/WiFi connectivity and your vehicle is in cellular
service. Further they both offer GPS tracking. If there were any issues they have been ironed out already.

Further I used to do them for $999 installed and $1299 with the smartphone interface. While I was at the dealer. Look for an independent that has much experience by you.

My car is almost always parked in a closed garage so its not safe to remote start the car due to exhaust gases. Even if I was able to install an aftermarket system, the sole Mercedes dealrt in Dubai can argue to void warranty if you sneezed a lot in the car.

I could care less the circumstances... I was just stating that there is no OEM solution from Mb, mid city has it and it works flawlessly. As for your dealer, is it your vehicle or theirs? If properly installed their best tech with a star diagnosis tablet wouldn't find it. I know I facilitated a few being sold overseas to Saudi, Dubai, and Jordan...

Its funny how you suggested that I would be "preferring" for a long time, then again you would care less about the circumstances.......oxymoron

I could care less where your vehicle is parked or how it is parked. You either want it or don't. Preference of a factory unit is non existent.
