Removing trunk lid liner to remove rear emblem?

Why do you want to remove the liner from the tailgate? I 've done that too to install my ALP lasers. Here is a picture of what the trim looks like on the inside. You can see where the trim is connected to the body. You should pop the trim using the automotive trim tool but don't pull it off right away. The trim need to slide towards the hinges first.

So it sounds like it's easier to remove the MB emblem from the 'inside', at least for the sedan?
