Picked up a 2014 E63 S AMG, designo Cashmere matte white, pano roof, black interior with B&O sound. All kinds of driving aids that I'm trying to figure out also.
Fun car and deceptively fast. I've run it in the canyons a couple of times and for a heavy car it does ok. Next step is tune, plugs and filters before running it against my super charged Lambo. Should be an interesting run.

That is a fine piece of italian beauty! Can't wait to see pics of the E in matte white.

The E63 has 600 miles on it so far making it difficult to get a sense of how it will ultimately feel. The E definitely gets up and runs, but honestly, the feeling is very different from the Lambo especially when you consider that it's supercharged and running about 600 AWHP, about 45% over a stock LP570.
The biggest difference between the two other than sheer acceleration, is the mushy feeling of the E63 gas pedal. You have to push it a good amount before the car gets moving. To overcome this I'm using the paddles in manual mode trying to keep the revs up abit. In the Lambo, you get back what you put in; press the pedal a little and it moves a little, press it a lot and you have to scrape your eyeballs off the back of your skull.
The E63 has what I call "stealth speed"; you don't realize how fast you are going until you need to shed speed for the next turn. It's very smooth. I suspect that when the car is fully broken in and tuned, it will ding the ego of many stock Lambo and Ferrari owners. I'll run it against mine after its broken in, before and after the tune.
Regardless, the E63 so far has been fun to drive. After all its hard to beat a four door luxury sedan with a throaty exhaust note and gobs of torque. A tricked out mustang realized that the other day when he shot by me and, of course, I had no choice but to stomp the gas pedal and wave to him as I blew by.

Congrats on a stunning E63. You will love the Designo Cashmere paint. My 2011 with the same paint goes away when my 2014 arrives. 3 years after purchase it is still indistinguishable from new. Truly a great worry free product. It will put a smile on your face every time you approach the car. Terrific pair you have there sir

And yes, I have a big smile whenever I walk into the garage and an even bigger smile after a spirited run through the canyons.

Im on my third M157 engine and always felt the throttle required too much driver input- but after tuning all of them that issue is easily rectified. A proper tuner will increase response and couple that with boost coming on faster and you will be very happy. On my SL63 I tuned it at 147 some odd miles- there is a lot left in the internals and supplemental parts so I dont worry about "break in".... Im pushing the car hard up and down the ranges and have done that for all 8 of my AMG's.

Diamond White for the 2014. Loving the feedback on the spirited handling of the car. Can't wait for mine to arrive so I can finally drive one.

I actually went with OE tuning (sponsor here). He has done all my AMG's except my ancient w210 E55 (no tunes back then LOL) along with my Porsches, Bimmers, and Audi's. The only car he didnt tune was my 2009 GTR as Cobb was the proven tuner. I find that OE is a little more conservative than the numbers that Renntech posts but thats fine for me as I push my cars hard daily and, as I mentioned, I tune early in the mileage counter.
I think all the tunes are within reason of each other but since OE is local to me I can get hands on service and I know them for over 10 years.

OEs system is interesting as well because of ability to switch back to stock or ramp it up for race gas without removing the ECU. After viewing their website they are on my list along with Weistec and Renntech.
Everyone drills I think, but I've proven it Eurocharged makes the most power! I did 630whp on a mustang dyno, non of the other tuners are making those numbers in 93pump fuel & mustang dyno
