The "problem" that Mercedez fixes is thats there's a V when the lights are off.
Look at the original (#1 in the thread) post with my pictures. The second photo. Thats not OK. The pictures of how the lights are so bright that they show a V in the dark on the lenses? Not all that surprising, in my opinion.

Had this problem since 2012 and finally got mine replaced and the V is still there only when the lights are on. Will it come back? probably. I also noticed that my light output is more yellow now, then before. Originally i remember it being more white/blue (on the road and looking directly at the lense). Could be probably a new fix?

So, totally normal for new bulbs. I had a copy of a MB bulletin re this, when my headlight was replaced five years ago. I'll try and track it down.
Edit : Here is the DTB, from 2009

FWIW, new 4300k bulbs are supposed to be yellowish white until they color shift around 100hrs or so and then they will start to turn whiteish blue.

After two months of having my lights replaced. The V only shows up when the lights are on. My old set the V was visible all the time. Could it be the projector lens?

I need to find the manual way to aim them higher.

I have the V haze and took in my car for service today for brakes. I mentioned the V haze to the SA and he claimed he had never seen it before but would look into a fix. He just called me and said that there is a new manufacture service alert on the V haze with a set of cleaning protocol performed by the service engineer. The service engineer said that he's never done it before and doesn't think it will work as it looks like a burn in the glass not a haze that can be cleaned. The SA stated that if it can't be cleaned they will just order me a new light assembly and charge the warranty. So I will wait and see on Monday what the outcome is as that's when they will give me the finally decision......

Seems you have a decent service manager
Enjoy your new headlights
My brand new ones don't have haze yet but in sure they will as that is the pattern of the beam
So be it

If they replace light assembly and the haze comes back it really won't bother me after my warranty is done but until then I hope they fix what needs to be repaired.

^Thanks for the info. I'm pretty certain they will find a way to replace the headlights considering you are spending $$$ on f/r brakes. 24k miles on the car is low. I just hit 30k.

Guys. Sorry i didn't read through the entire thread and don't know if someone already relate this information so here it is again if someone already did.
The V mark on the headlight lends ( on the inside ) is a quiet recall by Mercedes. What happens is the light bulb burns too hot thus burning the V mark on the lens itself. If those of you wonder why haze is so consistent on both lens, this is why. I have had my old E350 replaced same with the wood trims and also had the E63 replaced FOB. If your local Mercedes dealer tells you they can't replace it FOC ( unless your out of factory warrantee ), then get into touch with MBusa to escalate the sistuation. Good luck.

update
I've written to MBUSA to get a case started. Going into dealership to see if I can get these changed out of warranty. I looked at the pics I posted here earlier in the thread an my haze has gotten worse.... it's unbearable. Clearly visible during the day. I will push the case of saftey, and mention all the threads and pictures on this topic. Hopefully they will do the right thing and admit to a flaw in the earlier headlight (they have 2 newer revisions) and swap them out.

I hope they do the right thing and just replace your headlights. I suggest anyone that see's haze to take it to the dealer ASAP before your warranty expires. My dealer replaced mine and told me that if it comes back that they will replace them again but I know some dealers aren't so easy to deal with.
