I had Opticoat put on the doors, roof and back half of the car. As good as it is, Opticoat isn't going to prevent rock chips.

I had partial hood, bumper, rocker panels for $669. Full hood would have been around $500 more if I remember correctly. Had opticoat over bra and rest of car.
As someone said, opticoat won't protect from chips, sand, salt, debris...

u can opticoat on clear bra, but im not sure its good for the bra. ive researched on the detailing forums about this while, back and found varying thoughts...remember opticoat is just a hydrophobic chemical sealant...doesnt last forever, as clear bra is sorta the same...wont last forever either....
ive got xpel ultimate and i will wax it but not use my dual action on it....luckily with a silver car no need to.....dont for get to clay your car

You get what you pay for with clear bra installations. The installer is absolutely critical otherwise you can end up with a total hack job, exposed edges, razor blade cuts in your brand new paint, stretch marks, heat gun damage, etc... Just find the BEST installer and pay whatever they charge. Otherwise don't bother installing a clear bra as a poor clear bra install looks 10x worst than rock chips look. JMHO!

so they are correcting the clear coat on a brand new clear bra???
paint correction should be done on the clear coat of the actual car, not the clear bra.....
down the road u can correct the clear bra, but it takes expert hands and technique/product to put a dual action polisher on the bra itself and not haze it...
in terms of opticoat, im not sold on it....seen some good, some bad things....its a hydrophobic polymer layer which is fine, but it deosnt last forever.....i just dont know if its something that the clear bras are made for.....i wouldnt want to affect the self healing properties of the clear bra by putting a harder polymer on it..

I do not mean to hijack this thread but I thought it unnecessary to start a new one.
Does clear bra even do anything? I mean if a rock hits the car, isn't it going to tear right through the film?

Is anyone putting a clear bra on a leased car? It's my first lease and I feel like i want to do it because I have always put one on my cars. But I guess I don't really have to worry about it - ?
