Exclamation New E63 AMG Owner - Left rear air release noise at shut down

Hello all E63 owners. Very excited to join this group. I just bought an 2011 E63 AMG with 29k and each time I shut it off after driving or just starting it up for a few minutes I hear a air puffing noise coming from left rear (behind wheel). Dealer told me it was normal noise for air suspension to reset. It happened in "Comfort" mode the first time I drove it home and today on 3 driving trips.

Is this normal for this car? If not should I take it to dealer to check out (it's under warranty for nearly 2years)?

Thank you!

That's normal. The 2013 E63 Wagon that I took home on an extended test drive did that and my R63 does that as well.

Very normal and nothing to worry about. It's the rear air suspension adjusting pressure. Usually the car will release air when exiting the vehicle because it knows it's not in use. The rear's are always adjusting as you drive to regulate height (they will lower as you drive faster and inflate to compensate for load)

Thank you for the quick replies. Really appreciate it. Now I'm off to look for a sport grill. I will check the forum to see if anyone recommends 55tech grill. I love the look.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
It's normal. Just make sure you check that bulletin on air bellow replacement and have that taken care of before the warranty runs out.

2010 MB E63 AMG
I was about to post the same question. I'm glad I searched the threads to avoid redundancy. I have a 2010 E63 AMG and still find this very odd and annoying as, at least for my car, it makes that noise after I shut the car off every few minutes for about 30 minutes total or so. The exact noise that comes to mind is the sound you hear when you pull the release valve on a compressor for a quick second. In short, a VERY LOUD quick hissing noise. Now that I think about it. All the MB's I've had have all made some sort of unique noises. On a 2014 E350 when I turn the car off and exit the vehicle at times it makes a strong humming noise from the engine bay and immediately stops as soon as I hit the Lock Doors button on the key fob. On a 2003 CLK55 AMG when I had the air conditioning set on max it would make a fierce noise very similar to the sound of a jet engine increasing power. I always had interesting looks flying in my direction when that happened. Now that noise I thought sounded very cool as it was a mean/fierce noise that gave it a monstrous demeanor. The shop foreman I'm working with informed me that MB is actually working on some sort of quick fix for this. If this "patch" actually comes out and works, for me at least, I'll be sure to thread that intel.
