RIDE HEIGHT - Is it me OR does this car have too much wheel gap?

If anything, maybe 1/2" or 3/4" drop. I bought a set of H&R springs and yet to put them on because it is about a 1" drop, but they advertise 3/4" which I could be ok with. On my E550 I had it lowered about an 11/4" with 20's(looked good), but I can't do that to my new car, this is too nice. If the factory height was about a 1/2" lower, I would be perfectly happy.

the 3 suspension modes dont actually lower the car, just adjust the damping pressure i assume

Not true; the suspension mode does indeed raise or lower the car. It's all described in the manual. By raising the car in Comfort, they can presumably reduce the spring rate (via the air suspension) thus giving a more compliant ride.

It's in there. The manual also describes how, if you have the car in Comfort, the ride height will actually drop about 0.8" after you've shut the car off. Presumably because they know it looks so dumb jacked up. Next time you're getting gas, lean against the car and you'll feel it drop.
If you drive the car in Sport suspension mode, then it doesn't drop when parked because it's already lowered.

I think that information is for cars equipped with Airmatic Front and rear (E550). The E63 has no way to lower the front of the car on its own. afaik
The Airmatic for the E63 is for load balancing. When weight is added the car (passengers, bags, add gas, etc.) it will bring the height of the car back to normal.

Does that apply to the E63 as well?

Weird that people keep doubting me on this. Read the freaking manual; it's all in there. Or just watch the car lower itself when you're getting gas.

I agree. The car does drop a bit when I shut it off and get out. What I am trying to understand is the default mode when I start up and drive off. If I press the button once while driving down the road it says Sport. A second press says Sport + and the third press brings up Comfort. Still trying to understand what it's in if I just drive off without changing anything. The car is new to me. Still trying to figure things out.

Yeah, my car stays in whatever suspension setting I shut the car off in,(no shocks lit up, 1 shock lit up or 2 shocks lit up). I keep it with both shocks lit up, firmest, so when I get in my car I just have to rotate the mode to s+ and hit the esc button once for sport..

Either way I'm hitting two buttons. Scenario 1-hit amg button(set at s+ and 2 shocks) and hit the esc button to sport,, or scenario 2- hit knob to s+ and esc to sport(shocks already set at firmest).
