Anyone ever figured out the deal with SPLITVIEW?

The COMAND manual speaks to it, as if it's standard equipment, but my display does not show the icon in order to toggle on/off.

This is on a 2014.

This hook that hides in the trunk must be for something lesser known!

Kinda what I figured that it may have more problems long term, sounds pretty complex. For the life of me I can't figure out why Benz just did not buy rights to the Cadillac Magnetic ride system like Ferrari did. It works great, ride, handling and trouble free long term from what I've seen. It's just about everything else with the Cadillacs to do have problems though, expecially the rear ends needing replacement, super chargers rattling and needing replacement and the list goes on. Really makes me appreciate the Benz after going through all those things with a 2013 CTS-V. Trading it in for the benz was the best thing I ever did.

On a similar note to the hook above...

I cannot adequately describe how pleased I am with the "Comfort Box" option. It seems totally stupid to spend $290 on a retractable soft "box," but if you're DD'ing your car, I promise that it is invaluable. It's smartly designed, seems reasonably durable and performs flawlessly.

Coupled with the foot-kick-to-open-the-trunk thingie... grocery getting becomes a bit less soul crushing.

Oh, and speaking of the foot kick trunk thingie... now that I'm using it, I've somehow managed to get it to close on my shoulder twice. Hurts. Gotta watch the positioning of the feet when you're loading up.

Nice. We wagon owners get nothing like that, and it drives me nucking futs. So your plastic bags of groceries, or your Chinese takeout -- you need to find some solution, like jam them under a cargo net. Really irritating if you've ever owned a car with those hanging trunk hooks.

I just open the cover where the spare is under halfway to the first notch and place the bags in there, hold them in fine, never had a problem. This way they don't slide around the back.

Yeah, the comfort box is awesome. I use it all the time also, groceries, flowers for Mom on Mothers Day,etc. etc. Might be my favorite gadget on the car.

It's an option. If you don't have the symbol then you don't have SPLITVIEW. Another way to tell if you have it is to look at your screen (while it is on) and change your angle from the driver to passenger side. If it's a clear picture all the way you don't have it. The way splitview works is that there's a filter placed above the screen so depending on your seating position, you will view that image. It sort of looks and works like a privacy filter.

When the system works it works quite well. One of the biggest advantages to air is that it can do system leveling so when you're loading your car with a ton of weight in the back, the system can still balance the car for better handling and safety dynamics vs. being slammed.

I just found the DOG for the car.
It was a late option.

867 – SPLITVIEW (avail. as of 6/2013 production) $1,000

Also subject to the $250 SPC Fee.

It's a replica to pay tribute to Dr. Zetsche's stache.

On the dash within the clock the word sport is illuminated once in a while.
Any ideas as to what triggers this to occur?
Can not get it to come up just by adjusting the drive settings.

It means your a good sport for driving an over 100K car Actually though you must be twisting the knob on the console as sounds like you are going into sport mode. If the comfort symbol is not displayed this is what is happening.

When you hit the traction control/esc button once, it puts the car into sport mode, and that is when the word sport comes on in orange lighting. Holding the same button down for a second longer will deactivate traction control fully.
