This car is crazy.

At first I wasn't sure how I was going to like it on road trips, coming out of a CL63, which was so comfortable on long trips, but was almost boring.

The drive was very exciting, well too exciting. Got a ticket in VA driving from Jersey to NC. Going 86 in a 70. Didn't even realize how fast I was going until I was getting pulled over. The scary part is that this happened, and I didn't even get through the break-in at that point.

Cannot imagine why anyone would go faster than the flow of traffic on I95.

 

Wait until you start doing passes on single lane highways... That third gear thru to redline will rock your world.

You really need to get a good Escort/Beltronics product. These animals tend to move quickly and the local road revenue generators do not have a sense of humor. NOT try in to steal the thread, just making a comment.

 

Radar detectors are quite illegal to use in VA. Great way to bump up a fine or get it confiscated.

I95 is nearly a superspeedway. No reason to try to set a pole position lap.

Yes, they have Radar detector detectors. I know with my escort Solo when it senses those it shuts down. Tickets suck.


You gotta really look out for those speed cameras too, I know for a fact they have them in MD as I got a ticket in the mail last year. This year when I was driving back from Fl in MD I realized I might have been over the limit when I passed through a EZ pass toll and was thinking, wow, hopefully I wont get a ticket again this year at the same spot as last year when I was heading back north from Fla. It seems the only really safe place to go fast is the race track.

There was no traffic and I just wasn't paying attention. I was not trying to exceed 80. But l lost my focus.

 

While I was on this road trip, I finally got through my 1k.

I was having a lot of fun even then without exceeding the rpm and speed limitations. I did ping them once or twice but never for more than a second or so.

I don't know how I am going to get this thing sideways, the AWD makes it very consistent.
