Best value/choice?

Torn between my final two cars to choose from.
Both mint condition.
First from MB 2012 e63 with 40k km, Cpo. Can get for about 70k.
Second a 2010 e63 also with 40k km, a few months that left on factory warranty.

Both almost identical options and totally clear history.

Thanks for your help and thoughts

if you want power than 2012 turbo, if you want the n/a muscle car feel then 2010.

You must be in Canada, those prices sound high. How much warrantee is left on the 2012? If more than the 2010 I'd go for the 2012 then again I'm partial to 2012 twin turbos because I own one.

Yes, in the Toronto area.
12 has warrantee until about mid 2016.

Have not had the opportunity to drive both models so I can not speak personally to the different feel of the turbo vs NA.

Basically trying to decide if 20k additional makes sense for a car that is two years newer with the newer motor and warrantee.
Otherwise cars have same mileage and options/condition.

I live in Australia, if an amg went for 70k for a 2012 model id have 4 of them haha.
For a second hand 2012 model here you pay 190k

wow, cars are not cheap in Australia I guess. I use to have a Pontiac G8GT that was made in aussie, darn good car for the money, felt like a bimmer.

No question though, I'd go for the 2012 all other things being equal, worth the extra money IMO.

Considering the similarities save for the motor, can anyone describe the difference in the experience when driving the two different versions?

yeah ive driven both, and the 12 is leagues ahead of the 10! the 10 sounds a little bit better, but the 12 biturbo is an amazing animal, if you can afford 70k, do it!! trust me

Looks good, that's the same Color as mine and same wheels only mine is a wagon, but I'm sure you will be happy with the car. Does it have Distronic, lane assist and blind spot detection?

Does not and preferred it that way.
Spent three years driving an m56 and hated having to turn it all off every time in the vehicle because of all the darn beeping.
Also used a similar distronic cruise only once to see if it worked.

Actually was incorrect, actually did have Lane assist and distronic etc. Very nice drive so far for the first day.

One question, anyone have any idea what this little slot is intended for that is under the arm rest? Thought it could be for a phone but does not fit and could not close arm rest either way.

That's a good thing, I think the Distronic is one of the best things about the car, great to have. The lane assist comes in helpful if you are tired and makes you pay closer attention. When I'm not overtired or not driving a long time I normally turn it off as it can be a pain sometimes when you go over the line just a little bit and it corrects plus I'd think with it on you'd cut into your brake pad life some as when you do go over the line each time and it corrects it applies the brakes on the opposite side.

I think that might be designed for a Iphone straight up and down, could be wrong though. I never used that slot for anything on my car. I normally put my phone under the seat in the compartment.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
There was a brief discussion about that slot before. It might be intended for a phone before every one of them turned into the size of a mini tablet as they are today. With the removable sleeve, I guess it might be for loose change. I also surmised it as a fitting place for munchies like assorted nuts or M&M's. You can also stick a Swiss Army knife or switch blade in there.

What options do both cars have? I save the 20k and get the 10, IMHO.
