2013 e63 oil

2013 e63 I had a message on the dash asking to add a quart of oil. I was wondering what oil comes from the factory and is it possible they use different viscosity's.

Use what your owner's manual lists. In your case:

Either 0W-40 or 5W-40 in spec Mercedes spec 229.5

I'm guessing there's no way to no for sure. If it came with 0w-40 or 5w-40 from the factory? I don't wanna add a quart of different grade.

Adding one quart of a (possibly) slightly different viscosity (but proper spec 229.5) should not have any negative consequences. There are eight quarts in your lubrication system now.

Does the 63 have a dipstick or are u only reliant on the computer to tell u?

How often do these engines burn through oil?

Yes dipstick on drivers side of the engine. Check the stick first before filling, you don't want to overfill it. As was said as long as it's a mobil 1 or other good synthetic you should be fine. I would would not hesitate to put a quart of 5-30 in the car if it's all that was available, not much difference between that and 0-40 anyhow. As far as burning oil, my car has been around 5K miles since it's last oil change and revs a lot and is still right on full so I don't think these motors normally use much oil from what I've seen.
