On order: '15 E63 S Sedan

Hi,
My lease on a '12 CTS-V Wagon is coming up in Octobre, so today I placed an order for a E63 S Sedan, Polar White with Designo Platinum White interior, 5 spokes forged wheels with Carbon Ceramic Brake, Premium pack and Advance driving pack. Still hesitant about adding the B&O sound as I've not heard one yet and it reduces cargo space.
Before ordering I test drove some hot SUVs and AWD sedans like ML63, Jeep SRT8, Macan Turbo, CLS 63S, Audi RS7, but I found the E63 S most fun to drive with the best combo of right now power, muscular sound, confort, visibility and utility. In the end I had to choose between the E sedan or wagon but I went with the Sedan for it's lighter weight since I like to do some occasional Track days and Drag racing with my DD car too.

Congrats on the order.

Regarding the B&O... check this thread regarding differing trunk configurations between US and Canada.

Yes, the Audi is a very nice, powerfull and refined driving car.
Coming from a CTS-V, I found the Audi to have more power and a better exhaust tone, but compared to the E63S it's more muted and less brutal, sort of in between the two.
Sitting position is a bit lower than the E wich is more upright and has more headroom. Same for the rear passenger seat. Ride is very supple and trasmission is smooth and precise. On paper they say trunk space is greater in the Audi, but I found it less practical as there is no room available under the cargo floor to store your carry-on accessories and I dont like them to float around in the back.
To me the E63S is more like Mike Tyson in a Gala Tux, and the Audi his more refined opponent. Since I also drive a 13 Viper and a built 2,212cc Harley, for me, the more brutal and in your face power, the better !

Congrats for your order. Nice choice of colors. Mystic red and palladium are really good together. I love the B&O and in the wagon trunk space is the same with or without. Sedans I've seen stupidities like spare tire strapped on the floor. I think in canada it come with a tirefit kit. If you want to ear it I'm also in Montreal so maybe we can arrange a meeting. Steep price but sounds incredible.

Thanks Kart, sure I'll accept the offer to hear the B&O as I can still add it to the order. BTW, I also based my final color choice after seeing pics of your Wagon, except for no night pack as I like the silver trims.
I'll send you a PM and when we meet I'll come with the Viper, 640HP pushing 3,300lbs is another level in brutal power.

Nice build, I placed an order yesterday too - my biggest indecision is color. I'm starting with diamond white like my C63 but have been debating mystic red, palladium silver, and lunar blue. All with standard black/silver interior, I wish there was a classic red like the CLS63 or red/black like my C63 though I do like ameretto just not sure what color it goes best with.

Congrats - good to see I'm not the only crazy person to spec carbon ceramic brakes lol

MB stopped offering Mystic Red as an exterior paint on the E from 2014 onwards. The only way to get it from the factory now is through a special paint order (which is possible) but the drawback is that it costs about $10,000 to do (I inquired about some MB paints).

designo Amaretto was actually my first choice for interior colors but decided to go with Mystic Red instead due to female persuasion. You should totally go for it since it's so loud and fun.

CCB would also look great with Amaretto.

Oops meant cardinal red, sorry for some reason I had mystic red interior on the brain when I was talking about exterior color. Yes the amaretto is loud, fun, and different which I like. I've seen it on a black car and thought it looked great but not sure on other colors. I like mystic red and platinum white too but I'm fairly certain I'm going to stick with what I started with the diamond white with black/silver interior. The rest of the build is 773, 997, 995, 068, 752, 810, 872, B07, and H73.

BTW I love your build too, the E63S wagon is my favorite but my wife hates them - she's also one reason I'm staying away from red, says I'll get pulled over more lol she's probably right :zoom:

Saw a Palladium with Amaretto and it's flashy! Not sure I would have liked it for 39 months!

xxGenericSNxx 07-25-2014 02:14 PM

Here's the Amaretto on a Palladium Car: http://www.benzreport.com/e63-amg-4matic-s-model/ (Probably the same one kart's referring to).

I really dig it.

Cardinal Red is also a really cool color in person. I've seen one E sedan with it and really liked it.

The contrast stitching on the black interior is nice as well but I'd personally rather get something with more color from the designo range.

kart125 07-25-2014 06:49 PM

I saw one in person at the dealer (Palladium/Amaretto). It sure is a nice color, but a bit too flashy for me... mystic red is better for my taste!

Thanks SilveRT for a nice ride in your Viper this afternoon! It's monstruous in a good way! I'm still earing the engine roar in my spine! Hummm... when the kids grow older.... maybe a 2026 Viper if still arround!

Merci Claude!

So what's your verdict on the B&O?

Loved the sound, for sure it's amazing! but the reduced trunk space under the shelf may cause a problem when I need to carry my Viper's 14" wide 355-30-19 tires to the track. I currently drive a wagon, but want to switch to a sedan.
Next week, my dealer will have 2 cars for me to listen back to back from HK to B&O, my son will also come along as he as a better musical ear than me. The jury is still out on this.

xxGenericSNxx 07-27-2014 12:58 AM

One advantage of the wagon is that the B&O doesn't reduce trunk space and we still keep the spare tire. Just some food for thought.

HPMan 07-27-2014 11:56 AM

I wanted a sedan and the loss of: (1) trunk space (I need lots of it to lug around my hockey gear); and (2) loss of a spare (I hate driving with only sealer and a pump as that doesn't help much on a road trip when you're in the middle of nowhere), was a deal killer for the B&O. The B&O sure sounds great though.

Stopped by the Dealer today to finalize my 2015 order for the E63 S sedan, and decided to change colors from Palladium/Mystic Red to Polar white paint/Porcelain white interior. I think the all white look will go nicely with the golden Ceramic Brake calipers and the 5 spokes wheels.
Also spent some time listening to both the HK and B&O radios and decided the HK is plenty for my ears and it saves precious space in the sedan's trunk.
I also inquiered about adding the lighted LED Star in the front grille, dealer will get back to me with a quote as they would install it in house.

Should look something like this :

That's a hot car

Cool combo. And which trim will you be doing with that? I think the porcelain interior looks very sharp with the designo Piano Black Lacquer.

Have you considered Diamond White?

Need4Speed 07-31-2014 09:36 PM

You will enjoy the E63

Congratulations on the order !

For trim I went with the standard Black ash wood as I intend to replace it with a custom "White" ash wood

I preferred solid white as this car will replace my current CTS-V wich is already Diamond white and it will keep company to my solid white 13 Viper GTS

Did I mentionned "I like white"

Patric 08-01-2014 12:00 AM

I was interested in the lighted star for the grill of my new 14 but was told it is not compatible with cars that have distronic because the electronics are in the back of the star. Fairly certain it is the same on the 15s.
