Taking into consideration that selling my car and buying a new car will cost 100 000 USD of additional expenses I think that my idea looks reasonable and economically efficient.Who has another opinion don't judge me for that.

What I want to change:
- Hood, Front and rear bumpers, headlights, sideskirts.
- change Command Head Unit (HU) from NTG4.0 to NTG4.7 (NTG4.5 third generation - where we will have full IPhone integration)
- changing instrumental cluster (panel);
AMG Selector Lever Handle I have already updated.
What I want to get at the end (on photos you can see restyle made by SGA Exclusive:

Hello Andrey, does you car come with Bi-Xenon Headlights? Did you change the front SAM? Does old headlight connectors fir the facelift headlight connectors?

We are planning on a facelift for a 2012 E63AMG Biturbo so we want to get all the pars before we start.

At the moment we have: Facelift BiXenon Headlights, Front Bumper Kit, Hood, fenders remain the same. facelift Tail Lights, rear bumper kit, facelift diffusor and tail pipes.

I wonder if rear SAM has to be changed together for the front SAM? Do old connectors fit the new headlights and tail lights? Any further recommendations?

I think the only flaw in doing something like this is in the end you've spent all this money but the car will only be worth what a 2009 is bringing. I didn't do the math so I may be all wet.

My car was bi-xenon. There are two ways of doing conversion with changing SAM and without changing depends on who will do electrical part of the works - this is the most important and most complicated part of conversion. Connectors are different.
I have also ordered all needed parts. Headlight has already delivered. Waiting for the rest.

I realize now that the act of this project in and if itself is gratifying to the op and to him it's not about waste in value or dollars spent on parts....he just really seems to like the facelift

They still make xenon headlights for the facelift? I thought they're all LED. Vehicles without the lighting pack still have LED headlights but lighting pack will get you full LED headlights.

Buying E63 AMG and spending money for tunning is itself - investment with falling capitalization. But anyway people are buying such car because of emotions it gives to the buyer, and not for the though of how much money owner will return when selling. When thinking like You we need all move to VW or Toyota diesel forum.

My point is if you are trying to make a 2009 look like you spent the money to buy a 2014 when you didn't then the project is flawed as it will cost you more in the long run to be a poser.

On the other hand if you really like the NA motor then this is a valid project.

I've spent tons of money modifying cars over the years, even put modern running gear in a 69 Vette. But I've never tried making people think I had something I don't.

With installation of Command NTG 4.7. problem will be solved, as people had already successful experience on that:

http://www.sgmerc.com/topic/13405-nt...-w212-e-class/

http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/elect...-retrofit.html

Here there is a link with information on Command Online NTG4.5 and explanation of the differences between generations of NTG4.5
http://www.mercupgrades.com/Comand+A...-faq-15.html#4

And with prefacelift control panel also

http://www.sgmerc.com/topic/16505-ne...7-before-2012/

The main issue left is to change in tachometer logos from "V8 BITURBO" for "6.3 V8" to fit the engine of my car

I am on vacation and was checking local prices: 2014 E63 S price is $236,500
$170,000.00 is a very good deal compared to that

Hi Andrew,

I am converting my 2012 W212 to a facelift headlight. Wiring is good, SD has realize the intelligent headlight. But I need I can't find a loaner car to get to online code my SAM Unit. I can't use my car to code the SAM Unit. SD will read my VIN/Chassis# and therefore code the old headlight. Any advice or workshop to do this job ? I can send this SAM Unit and get it code.

You need 2013 w212 car to code your SAM. You have to program SAM on the car 2013MY after that put this SAM on your car. Try to find a car wich has the same options connected with headlights that your car have, it will be easier to code.

Thanks Andrew, but since this facelift has been around for few months in my country there are car coming back to workshop to do heavy service. I have a hard time getting a new facelift W212 car. I hear someone use teamviewer and do this coding remotely. Is this true ?

Found several free minutes and want to finalize this thread by finishing my story about my project on E63 conversion
I have ordered and received all details (hood, bumper and side skirts are not shown)

Some of the parts did not fit my model and was not needed for my conversion

here is the picture of not needed parts for my conversion

Here we start to diassemble my car

Some of problems seems to appear but we easily solved them

Here we start to assemble

Than we started to fit the new bumper

after finishing and checking that everything fits perfect we started painting works

then assembling of the new bumper

And the most complicated part of the conversion electric wiring and programming

Don't be afraid by the huge quantities of wires they are from another car. You need to add only 2 wires for each headlight: one thick for "+" and one thin wire for management signals and then repin the connectors to have correct electric and headlight management connection.
Reprogramming was made by the guys from the CARSYSTEM using modul: http://carsystems.com.ua/mb-products...roller-w212-en
They also reprogram my front SAM with new software from 2013 model, so I did not buy new SAM.

P.S. Special thanks to Dmitriy, Oleg and Constantin from MERCTEIL (http://www.mercteil.com) for supplying with original Mercedes-Benz parts for conversion. It was good to work with them.

Still very nice work!

On the not needed parts, I have to add some people may not have the E63 prefacelift (E300 or 500 instead). Those parts may be needed for those, who think about the conversion.

The electrical module for the headlights is not plug&play as some may think. There is a slightly deeper understanding needed as well as proper softwaretools to make it work.

However I like this conversion! Looks fresh!
