I now ordered a E63 S, but my choice went for the sedan this time as with the folding rear seats it has enough room to carry my stuff, looks nicer (to my eyes anyway) and most importantly it has a better power to weight ratio as it weighs 230 lbs less. Weight considerations made me also opt for the CCB brakes, Twin 5 spokes wheels and not adding the B&O radio.
I should get delivery just in time for winter, but early next Spring I'll take it to the Dragstrip and aim at the all stock record as we have great northern air around here.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
How did you like the Caddy CTS-V wagon? I had a 2013 for less than a year and hated that car. It was very tight in the legroom dept and no headroom and had all kinds of issues with the car including having to replace the whole rear end within 7K miles. I did not like the steering feel or the brake feel and best I could run was a 12.68 in the quarter mile which sucked. I like the E63 AMG Wagon I have now so much better plus I'm not stopping for gas every 180 miles, I get over 300 miles on a tank in the AMG.
I like Wagons as 3 years ago I custom ordered a CTS-V Wagon over the sedan.

After testing the E63S a few times, I totally agree that it is a superior car in most aspects, price excluded, and the only thing I'll miss from the CTS will be the Onstar system wich is a fantastic service.

Yes, and I'm surprised nobody here has beaten that time yet.
Road&Track (March 2014) did 11.5 at 123 mph in their comparo test.
I always drag test my cars all stock after a hard break-in to compare with the published times and with the help of the fresh Quebec air available in Spring and Autumn, I usually beat those times by a few tenths.
I've done 13.6 with a then new '87 Buick Grand National when mags did 13.9. In 2006 my Silver Jeep SRT8 (SilveRT8) did 13.07 when mags did 13.4, my 2008 Viper did 11.45 vs 11.6 in mags, and my CTS-V pulled a 12.028 vs mags at 12.30 (best stock time on Cadillac Owners.com is 11.997 by a lighter Vcoupe, I'm in at 4th).. My recent 2013 White Viper is hard to launch as it either spins or bogs, and is the only car I was not able to beat the mags with a 11.6, so far !
Not everybody publishes their times on Dragtimes, so 11.75 should be a fairly easy target for someone serious about it and not afraid to find the limits of his brand new E63. One thing is for sure, whatever the best time is by next spring, I'll go after it !

Nice write up. I got the pleasure of seeing this same car in person at the dealer (someone from corporate was using it and it's also the same car that Top Gear USA had along with some other journalists in their write ups):

You can bet that those 8,300 miles the car has are truly abused.

Yes, they reported that when cornering on the Track the Wagon felt more balanced or stable than the sedan, but when accelerating on the street or at the Drags the lower weight of the sedan will give it the edge.
