Hits the nail on the head. It's my car that checks every box I can want. It's why the Robb Report also named the Wagon the SUV of the year.

+1. I couldn't have dreamed of a better car for my all my necessary and unnecessary needs.

I like Wagons as 3 years ago I custom ordered a CTS-V Wagon over the sedan.
I now ordered a E63 S, but my choice went for the sedan this time as with the folding rear seats it has enough room to carry my stuff, looks nicer (to my eyes anyway) and most importantly it has a better power to weight ratio as it weighs 230 lbs less. Weight considerations made me also opt for the CCB brakes, Twin 5 spokes wheels and not adding the B&O radio.
I should get delivery just in time for winter, but early next Spring I'll take it to the Dragstrip and aim at the all stock record as we have great northern air around here.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
How did you like the Caddy CTS-V wagon? I had a 2013 for less than a year and hated that car. It was very tight in the legroom dept and no headroom and had all kinds of issues with the car including having to replace the whole rear end within 7K miles. I did not like the steering feel or the brake feel and best I could run was a 12.68 in the quarter mile which sucked. I like the E63 AMG Wagon I have now so much better plus I'm not stopping for gas every 180 miles, I get over 300 miles on a tank in the AMG.

You need to beat 11.75 seconds according to dragtimes

In almost 3 years and 24k with the CTS-V, not a glitch or rattles and never had to return once to the dealer except for the all prepaid regular maintenance "Amazing !!". I did not baby the car either as I did several Track days and a few trips to the Dragstrip also for a best of 12.02 at 115.66 mph all stock. Because of the track days, I had to replace the worn out Mich PS2 tires and the front discs and all pads after a year and replaced brake and diff oils every spring. I'm good with the available space and love the Recaro seats and alcantara steering wheel. Small gas tank for long trips and lack of stock exhaust rumble (easy to fix) are my only complaints for a DD car and weak front brakes for track duty. The car was good fun on the track registering up to 1.10G in the turns and very able to pass others on the straights.
After testing the E63S a few times, I totally agree that it is a superior car in most aspects, price excluded, and the only thing I'll miss from the CTS will be the Onstar system wich is a fantastic service.

Yes, and I'm surprised nobody here has beaten that time yet.
Road&Track (March 2014) did 11.5 at 123 mph in their comparo test.
I always drag test my cars all stock after a hard break-in to compare with the published times and with the help of the fresh Quebec air available in Spring and Autumn, I usually beat those times by a few tenths.
I've done 13.6 with a then new '87 Buick Grand National when mags did 13.9. In 2006 my Silver Jeep SRT8 (SilveRT8) did 13.07 when mags did 13.4, my 2008 Viper did 11.45 vs 11.6 in mags, and my CTS-V pulled a 12.028 vs mags at 12.30 (best stock time on Cadillac Owners.com is 11.997 by a lighter Vcoupe, I'm in at 4th).. My recent 2013 White Viper is hard to launch as it either spins or bogs, and is the only car I was not able to beat the mags with a 11.6, so far !
Not everybody publishes their times on Dragtimes, so 11.75 should be a fairly easy target for someone serious about it and not afraid to find the limits of his brand new E63. One thing is for sure, whatever the best time is by next spring, I'll go after it !

Wow, my 2013 CTS-V wagon must have been a lemon I guess.

Nice write up. I got the pleasure of seeing this same car in person at the dealer (someone from corporate was using it and it's also the same car that Top Gear USA had along with some other journalists in their write ups):

You can bet that those 8,300 miles the car has are truly abused.

I didn't like the look of the wagon... Just comes off a bit too big in my opinion.

I don't like most sedans (except for the c43 and 190e 16v) much at all, but then again my first car was a 1983 subaru wagon that I shared with my siblings

I believed I read Motortrend review on the wagon which said the extra weight in the back actually improves handling especially in corners. I guess it is too minimal to notice on normal road.

Yes, they reported that when cornering on the Track the Wagon felt more balanced or stable than the sedan, but when accelerating on the street or at the Drags the lower weight of the sedan will give it the edge.
