2011 E63
I am considering a 2011 E63, a CPO car with 37K miles.
I plan to drive 4/5K miles a year at most and mostly around town. Some will say why in the world does this guy want a car for running errands? Well, I am retired, had a C36 and CLS55 and I like AMGs. A friend of mine said that this transmission has a wet clutch and not a torque converter. They can be a little jerky when creeping around town.
Also, some of these cars of this vintage with the burl wood trim had a defect in the wood stain that caused them to fade in the sunlight. If this car has this issue it would take a couple thousand dollars to fix and it is not likely to be covered by any warranty other than the original new car warranty.
I welcome your comments and suggestions.
Cheers,

Why not drive a 2012 or 2013 e550 as well ... Lots of power and very very smooth for 'round town driving. Plus you'll have more warranty and potentially lower miles.
But I get your connection with amg, this 2011 will have some warranty and you may or may not like the jerkiness of the trans. Though the 550's are fast, they don't evoke the same emotion at wide open throttle that the amg will... That amg snarl
Any Benz can be cost prohibitive to repair a problem out of warranty

Does the CLS55 have the same kind of clutch or a torque converter? I don't remember.
Thanks,

Just bought the car a week ago, about to get the extended warranty through MB. Hopefully I have no trouble as screw ups on this car cost an arm and leg.
