Congrats!! Post pics of the beast. What color?
As for the mods I bet this is your first AMG?
There are no LTH for the M157 engine. It is a biturbo V8 therefore you might want to upgrade turbos, downpipes and exhaust.
I think the best bang for your bucks on this engine is an ECU tune. As you have a S model the gain versus a normal E63 won't be as much but you can end up with good 600+ at the wheels. Then you would want catless downpipes to improve the exhaust flow and sound.
Improving turbo is costly but worth it if you have the budget as well as transmission upgrade because once you reach the 700+ whp OEM transmission becomes the weak link.

There are great vendors out there you will have to do your homework and figure out by yourself which one you would like to choose between Renntech/Weistec/AMS/eurocharged etc...
They mostly likely do the same and are pretty similar in pricing with good reviews.
A simple and economical way to improve sound would be to delete cat with straight pipes.

I've been driving a GTR which I've added a few mods to. Needed a car with more room and a daily driver. Love adding a little more power and upgrading the exhaust to get the sound right. It sounds awesome stock but adding an aftermarket exhaust I think this thing will sound like a monster.
Modded? GTR are fast cars I drove test some recently and almost pulled the trigger on one 2014 with those crazy discounts on left over stock. But space would not do it for me after reflection as I want to be able to drive my kids in the back seats.
Anyhow engine wise you'll have similarities with the GTR. But for sure you won't match the performance.

i was in my friends the other day, he has catless down pipes with arkrapovic exhaust, and it sounded so boomy and drony. like it was all exhaust noise and no engine sound whatsoever. lacked any kind of character or definition...
and the noise level inside the cabin even at highway cruising was so annoying. i couldnt imagine how anyone could call that a good sound.
i guess ive been spoiled since picking up my gt3.

I got a 2010. It is modded. Injectors, ecu tune, intake, downpipes, lowered it, and exhaust. I love it. It's a blast to drive. I just can't drive it everyday now. That's why I went out and grabes the E63. I'm not looking to match performance. Just wanted to throw in the ECU, downpipes, and exhaust and make that mercedes rumble a little louder.
gee a stock e63 with performance package should be about equal with a gtr.
with a tune and about 700 hp i think you should be walking all over even a gtr with down pipes. from a roll certainly. and certainly better their trap speed??

does anyone know the difference in performance between the renntech tune on the e63 S AWD (701 hp) vs the non AWD renntech e63 w/669 hp?
the AWD would probably have a better 1/4 mile time but what about the trap speed?

you dont think an e63 biturbo with tune could match performance with a gtr?

The 2014 GTR track package stock will do 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds and the quarter mile in 11 seconds. As speeds build the tuned E63 S will pull away from the GTR.

An E63 S with a strong tune, downpipes and exhaust will do 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds and the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds.

We can help with the ECU part of it as well without the MB tax. Our ECU tune is on sale right now for $1499

The S boys actually dyno higher in stock torque but the end result is pretty close to the same.
