2010 E63 Launch Edition? What is different?

2010 E63 Launch Edition? What is different?
I am looking into a car that the seller told me is a 'Launch Edition' car that is 1 of 500. I have never heard of this for the E63, and cannot find anything online. Would someone be able to shed some light on if this is a real thing, and if it is, what is different from a normal E63? I am just trying to figure out if this is special, or just made up, before making an offer.

Interesting. Never heard of such an edition. I doubt it's anything special.

Launch Edition (or Edition 1) is for a model line (E/S/CLS) but not for AMG models as they are already limited in quantity. For example, there is currently an Edition 1 for the S550 coupe that is Magnetite Black Metallic with Bengal Red/Black interior and a list of packaged options. There was a 2010 E550 Coupe Launch Edition in Olive Green with Natural Beige/Black interior but no E63.

That is simply not true. I know they made an edition one of the C63 and CLA45, not sure what other models donned edition one variants in the past. My dealer informed me they will have an edition one AMG GT. I do not believe there was an E63 edition one however.

just means it older than any of the other ones u find so u should try to get it cheaper

In the past that was the case... it is changing with the new roll out of models and the addition of so many different lines. There will be an Edition 1 for the 2015 C63 and there was for CLA45.

I do believe this is a newer thing for AMG. However, they did have an edition one 2012 C63, maybe that was the first?
