My New 2015 E63 S Sedan in Lunar Blue is Finally Here!!!

So that means they will warranty the car if something major breaks? Or they are just "authorized" to install Renntech products? Any tech can install the tune it's plug and play literally takes less than 5 mins to do.

There really are no guarantees of anything when the car is tuned. Unfortunately Dinan, which has a fantastic warranty that matches the factory warrantee for a term, doesn't tune Mercedes.

The cost of the tune is not a secret. Retail price on the tune if you get the full tune is $3495. Some discounting is available. Renntech has a annual Christmas sale where they give 10% off on the tune. The tune cannot be done via a port. The ECU must be removed and overnighted to Renntech which tunes it and then overnights it back. Any dealer will charge you an hour of labor to take The ECU and an hour of labor to put it back in.

I finally got to see natural curly maple up close and personal for the very first time yesterday (trim pieces I ordered to "re-content" my yet-to-be-produced wagon arrived in the mail) and it's amazing the depth and character that it has. It looks like it really adds a rich warmth to the interior. And the warm browns combined with the dark blue is beautiful! Congratulations, and enjoy!

I love it, too!! That interior color combo is to die for - I adore it!

Very nice combo. I would have opted for designo leather pkg if the entire seating area were to be the same color. I had the "Atacama" leather package in the '07 V70R and it was wrapped around the entire chair, no contrast but for the stitching.
Enjoy

Thanks. Yes Designo leather has the two tone look rather than one color. I like it a lot especially in person but it is odd that they do not offer it in one color throughout the car

What kind of insurance do you ask for with FedEx...? Surely this ecu is worth more than $5k

Thanks. With the Renntech full tune and sport mufflers the car is a beast. Acceleration is unbelievably brutal and it is very loud. When I drive by people they stare in disbelief that that noise is coming from an E Clasa LOL.
In terms of acceleration according to the stats my car as modded does the quarter mile about as fast as my 991 TTS without performance mods. But the AMG feels a lot faster and more wild whole doing it. The 991 TTS is a lot more buttoned down on the road.

Congrats, I'm thinking of making the move to the 2015.
Can you comment on:
Can you comment on:
- Driving Dynamics of the car.
- Is the suspension well sorted and does if absorb or amplify road imperfections?
- Does it feel glued to the road in transitions and at higher speeds?
- Any thoughts on the new updated transmission?

Not sure what it's worth but if you pack it well the odds of it getting lost or breaking are slim. I would insure for a decent amount but if you ensure for too much the insurance will cost you a lot....

Suspension: the car offers a good ride. It is firm for a sedan. You feel the bumps. It does not amplify them but it does not soak them up like an S Class. This is a performance sedan and you do not forget it while driving.
Glued to the road: It feels well planted to the road. It certainly does not have the poise or connectedness to the road as my 991 TTS but far a large sedan the handling and connectedness to the road are excellent.
Updated transmission: I do not like the MCT as much as I liked my ZF 8 speed automatic in my 2012 550xi. It is generally good. But it is not good when you are approaching a light while coasting and then shortly before stopping you need to floor it. There is an annoying delay once you apply WOT before the power comes on. It seems as if the MCT is thinking what to do. Also, the manual shifting in the MCT is good but not nearly as fast as the PDK in my 991 TTS.

Driving dynamics: This is a big and heavy sedan and it feels it. The ride is well controlled and tight for a big sedan. And the induction and exhaust noise are incredible and so alive-but pretty loud even in stock form. Acceleration is strong in stock form and brutally strong if you get the Renntech full tune--in that form the car really is scary fast with 0 to 60 somewhere in the 2.9 range and quarter mile about 10.9 -- the same ET as a stock 991 TTS.

Sorry your refreshed mct does same as mine... Only thing I don't like about mct is that delay when coming to a stop and then jumping on accelerator... Wet clutch delay

In all, the ZF 8 speed in my 2015 550xi was far superior to the MCT in my 2015 E63 S as well the PDK in my 991 TTS.

Yes I hate that delay from a stop when applying WOT. That one seems a little better with the Renntech full tune -- but not the MCT stumbling when you slow down at a light and then, before you stop, apply WOT.
