Bad oil temp sensor? 2014 E63 Wagon

We had unusually cold weather in the last days (-30 celsius) and I noticed that even after an hour + of highway driving the oil temp stay in the blue (60-70 celcius - 80 celcius is the point were it goes white). If I drive a bit more agressively the oil warms up to 80-85 and goes back down in the blue when I start cruising again. It seems odd that it does not stay above 80 degres. The ECU is probably relying on the oil temp to control a lot of parameters - including start-stop that does not work (not necessarly a bad thing!). I had a C63 before and it was always above 80 once warmed up, even in cold weather.

anyone experienced this? If it's seems to be normal I will stop to look at gage (I like to have AMG display on!).

I have noticed similar, in that the M157 takes forever to warm the oil up and when driving easy it cools back down (though I've only seen it go back to the blue once) compared to the M156 whose oil warmed up very quickly and stayed fairly warm.

Not complaining though, as hitting the limp mode on aggressive back road driving during hot summer days can be quite annoying - haven't had my E63 during the summer yet but hoping that will be less of a problem.
