Knob for glove box air vent

Does anyone know where to get the knob for the glove box air vent? Mine is missing. Is it only part of the full dash or can you order it separately?

A small item like this may be just easier to go to dealer parts department and have them look it up and it may only be 10 to 15 bucks and most likely they can get it in less then a week. Or at least you can get the correct part number from the parts dept. and search online.

I have a bad feeling its part of the glove box assembly itself, but I guess I'll have to ask at the parts department.

That's what I started looking at yesterday, I'll confirm it's part of the glove box itself then start checking junk yards. Not that it really is necessary, but I Like the car complete

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Indeed, junkyard would be your best bet. It's just amazing why a part like that would be missing.

Assuming I need to go to a junkyard, does anyone know what models, year I would need to look for to get the right vent knob? I'm assuming the vent knob is probably the same across many different models. Also, would I be correct in assuming I'll have to take the glove box out to reinstall it? At first I assumed I just pop it in from inside the glovebox, but I saw a picture showing it looks like its attached from the backside.

I'm really concerned about all the air I'm wasting in the glove box that is affecting the performance of my air conditioner

I'm guessing it is probably the same for all E-Class. I'm surprised it is not a simple screw-on from inside the glovebox. What about asking the service dept to run the part number for a couple of E-Class vehicles and see if the part number is the same?

You'd think that would be the case right? Went to the parts guy today and he had no idea what I was talking about. Then he said its under warranty, go talk to the service adviser who looked at me like I was crazy asking him about a missing part. The parts guy thought it might come with the glove box duct, but no one seems to know for sure. I did find a part when looking up a different mercedes I think it was a CL or something that actually shows the knob for 5 bucks. So still have no idea what part it would actually be. The duct if it comes with the knob is only like 15 bucks so not a big deal.

Is the knob in the glove box supposed to be black or white?
