The easiest way to look for P30 is to look for the red brake calipers or the alcantara sections of the steering wheel.

Both could be retrofit, but wagon owners don't typically do things like that.

As you've probably figured out, the people that fill out the online description often drew the short straw and perform accordingly.

What's a P30 option? and how do we know the white wagon in SD does not have it?
P30 is the performance package and primarily includes a higher-boost tune (550hp vs 518), a alcantara-sided steering wheel, and red brake calipers.

If you plan on getting an aftermarket tune later in the car's life, the PP (P30) is red brakes and suede steering wheel... certainly not something most would pay almost $8000 MSRP for. If you don't, I believe the higher boost makes the car feel sufficiently quicker.

actually the sales guy was nice. I am not a kid anymore and I have bought my fair share of cars in used car dealers, so I know what you r referring to. But he did not try to mislead me saying S stands for "super whatever"...he actually said he believed it meant "station wagon".
But the car has 4 things going against it and one good thing going for it.
Not a CPO, no P30 option, high priced, and not 4matic. But the best part of this car is the relatively low miles at 26k for a 3 year old car and it seems to be in pristine shape, at least from Facetime image.

Do they have the window sticker for it?? FWIW, from what I know, that car does NOT have the P30 package nor is it in the description anywhere that I found.

X2 to ^^^^^ what Cnolke stated: " P30 is the performance package and primarily includes a higher-boost tune (550hp vs 518), a alcantara-sided steering wheel, and red brake calipers. "

I'll confirm what other posters said. The S and W are counter-intuitive. S=Wagon, W=Sedan. whoever came up with that nomenclature should be fired.

You're not going to find a 4matic pre-facelift because it does not exist.

I agree with other posters. For a non-P30 package and non-CPO, he's about $10k too high. If you like this car (and it checks out), I would offer low $60k.

There is a 2012 P30 CPO with 33k miles at Santa Barbara Mercedes, asking $70k. I would check that one out.

and if you don't care about P30 package, there is one at RAB Motors (dealer) in SF Bay Area that you should check out.

21k miles, asking $70k, CPO and it's been sitting on the lot for a while, so probably some room for negotiation.

Ya, price seems way high. I bought mine nearly a couple years ago for 75K with 12K miles on it. Mine also is a p30 which this car is not and has the distronic with a sticker msrp of 107K. I'd offer em 62K if you really like the car, but no more. I've had great luck with my car, no issues, I'm up to 36K miles and brakes are only half worn and car drives like new. Trans is a little jerky, but you get use to it, to me, I kind of like it, you feel more of the raw power, the CTS-V wagon I had before felt too cushioned and isolated, the MB feels much more racy.

If you do check out the Santa Barbara wagon, you have to ask for jimmy Trieste. Most knowledgeable guy there and he's an old Bay Area car nut. One of the top 3 car salesmen I've ever dealt with.

I think that's a bit pricey. I picked mine up for $74K less than 3 months ago. CPO, 1 owner, with 17K miles on it. P30, LSD, night vision, etc. I think the only option that's missing is the carbon interior.

I just bought this 3 days ago: http://www.calabasasmbz.net/certifie...f4b430db59.htm

It MSRP for $116,000 with P30, all interior and exterior CF and its warranty until April of 2017. The wagon your interest without P30, CF interior and exterior and if it only has 9 month warranty left. You are about $10,000 more than what I would pay.

Good Luck.

I don't see the performance package on this car - wouldn't it have red calipers if so equipped.

The asking price does seem far too high. It's way above the CPO wagons you can find on the MBUSA website.

FWIW, the car in Calabassas was a sedan, not a wagon.

Yeah, sorry. The dealer took it off the site because I just bought it. Took it home last Friday ( March 13 ). If you know how the True Price works. They don't come down on the price. I paid $500 less than what their True Price was asking. Here are some photos for reference. I love the car. It's a nice looking beast. I am getting exterior CF front splitters replace, service B, new brake pads on all four wheels and a $299 full detail ( the dealer just got the car for less than 3 days when I bought it so it wasn't clean at the time I first look at it as you can see from the photos which was taken by the dealer.

GAH! Sedan vs. wagon pricing is COMPLETELY d'frent.

e.g. Fletcher Jones is currently offering this '12 wagon at $98K:

it's very... "rice boy", circa '00. reminds me of the s2000 "jdm/spoon/i'm ricey" black and red leather combo. the thing is.. my wive really dug the color scheme cuz she had that s2k with the same theme...

Beverly Hills MB couldn't sell that gauche combo for 3MO. i fail to see how Newport Beach is be a better market for said car.

Considering the Ceramic Brakes and a Celeb owned movie car, yes this wagon is more than a sedan, but when I was shopping for a AMG, the wagon is like 2k more compares to a Sedan of same mileage and options so IMO, the prices is about the same.
