W212 E63 AMG Black
Lowering, Wheel Spacers & OEM Wheels

I've seriously been contemplating keeping the stock OEM 18' wheels on my '10 E63 and just lowering it. Versus getting Vossen CV7's (20'). I've already ordered the front lip. I've also got the rear links and H&R springs.

Because of the front lip I need the wheels to look "flush" and even. I'm looking for wheel spacers, can anyone suggest any that they've used or heard good things about?

Also as stated in the other forums, if anyone has pics of their lowered E63 with stock wheels, please post, I haven't been able to find many E63's with their stock wheels lowered, most go with aftermarket. But I honestly like the stock 18's much more than most after market, but I want to make sure my care isn't going to look "retarded" after the drop.

I've tried hubcentric spacers before but the car felt really unstable, any time i hit a bump it would kind of feel like it was bouncing sideways if you know what i mean. I was running 20mm. What kinda spacing were you thinking.

You're in luck. Just did my spacers this week. Lowering springs and links are on the way. 15mm on the rear and 10mm on the front. OEM 19" wheels. Spacers are hubcentric. I hope these pics help.

I have to admit, I think it looks really nice on the stock wheels just spaced out a little. A subtle change but a good one. Sadly and kinda bizarrely, i do have some kind of alignment issue that's been accentuated because I get slight steering wheel shake above 80mph and something doesn't quite feel right....maybe I didn't fit them right (somehow, who knows...dirty hub surface etc) but there does appear to be an imbalance and it makes the car feel less planted as it was without the spacers. I'll keep you posted on how I get on and if I'm able to resolve the issue.

I think it looks great. Would love to see an updated picture with the lowering. Which spacer brand did you go with?

Thanks guys

Mine are just some random ebay brand...i figure, as long as they're steel, hubcentric and have longer bolts, I'll be fine. H&R would be nicer in an ideal world, but I'm not ballin

My springs have arrived but I was too busy to install them. Besides, I've sent the front 10mm spacers back and requested 15mm spacers. The 10mm didn't have the lip for the wheels to sit on, so I was getting horrid vibration at speed and a general vague/rubbish driving feel. I'll update in due course with the new front spacers and once lowered.

This is what happens when a stupid person gets their hands on some money or when these cars get cheaper. Idiot.

Dont use spacers, simple, AMG spent millions getting the car right, all you're doing is wearing down axels, baring etc and big bills for the sake of 12-15mm, and ideally they should be 12mm if you do, but personally the cars is a beast, why f**k with it!!!

Somebody once said that to me and they also added that I wouldn't be able to get 600hp (crank) out of the M156 without forced induction because MB spent millions getting the car right etc....
