2011 E63 Needs Battery?

OBD Has shown stored trouble codes for "power supply, low voltage" across all systems. It suggests the battery has run dead at some point shortly before I bought it.
4 to 5 years is fairly common for a battery so I suppose it could be due. Might have gone dead sitting on dealer lot not being driven.
Another sign that something is wrong is my plug in radar detector. Every morning when I start the car the detector (9500i) chimes "low voltage, please unplug" then shuts off. It never did this in my other cars. After the engine runs for about 15 seconds everything is fine.
So I have an appointment with the dealer on Wed. Likely going to need a new battery. THE QUESTION IS:
Should I pay them to replace it at some overpriced price, or should I put it in a aftermarket battery myself?
Any idea what they will try to charge me?

Plugged into cig lighter at front base of console. Radar detector turns on automatically when engine is started.
BTW, anybody know if I will need any security code to enter if I replace the battery?
My 2000 E55 had a 4 digit code I had to enter as security against radio/head unit theft.
Thanks

But I am still curious if anything on this model needs to be re-activated if I dont supply the outside 12v

That's great news. I just priced one at local parts place, O'Reilleys, and it $175 out the door with core.
Looks like I wont need to worry about that though!
Thanks.

He said the codes would store long enough to change the battery so no special attention needed for this. Sure enough, no need to reset anything.

They gave me a status call today on my various requests.
Regarding the battery, it looks like the battery is actually OK. The following I thought might be of interest to someone on the site:
There is a software bug that causes a low output voltage when the engine is first started in idle. I was told they "flashed the software fix" and now everything should be fine.
The only reason I noticed something was wrong is because right after starting the engine, my radar detector would sound an alarm and say "low voltage, please unplug" and then it would shut itself off. I would simply wait 5 seconds, and then turn it back on and everything worked normally. This radar detector has never done such a thing in any other car I placed it in.
