Replacement Wood Trim for 2011 Interior
Just dropping this note out to you guys in case you didn't know about this.
When I just had my car in for some minor warranty repairs, my service adviser pointed out how in a few areas on the wood trim it looked like it was bleached out by the sun (it was the worst under the instrument cluster and near the driver door). My first thought was, that sucks! But then he said:
"you were just complaining to me about this right" as he winked. I said of course. He then said that MB has this as a "quiet" recall, meaning that they will replace all of the interior wood trim at once for a car with this problem.
Good Deal! Getting new trim for free. My warranty is actually up in about a month and the trim kits are back ordered. However, if a claim is made while still under warranty, they will honor it and I will get the new trim as soon as its available.
So if you have the wood type trim and its bleaching out, get it into your dealer and complain about it before you are out of warranty. I am guessing that an extended warranty might not cover this.
Hope this helps someone.
