That's is so awesome to watch... Sanctioned racing of a powerhouse
How did it feel?? Did it feel confident in those corners and what did the stability feel like at top speed? And vibes?
Last time I raced a car in that fashion was at the Chicago motor speedway in 1999 when a new car called the E 55 debuted.
Thank you for posting and it seemed like you had a great time

That's awesome fun. Is 162 tops you think in a straight away?

I have honestly hit 100+ on freeway on ramps. Makes quite an impression when some guy is doing 75 and then sees the blur from nowhere! Lol all done safely of course before haters start chiming in with telling me how to drive.
"Done on closed course with well experienced driver" now legalities covered as well.
BTW Pete, your inbox needs some attention. Tried to send you a pm. Was rejected cuz your box was full.

glad you enjoyed! the car felt great, for something that weighs 4500 lbs the engineers have done a good job at really making it handle very well. if you look we're hardly moving around at all inside the car, just like normal highway cruising in that car just much faster... actually, not that much faster
but yeah very stable at speed, which we all know, and felt pretty good in the corners too. my dad's "middle-of-the-road" driving allowed this RS5 to get right up behind us in the corners but when that 3/4 mile main straight comes up it's bye bye audi! fastest speed i saw was 162, you have to keep the front windows down for reasons of making it easier to extract you from the car so who knows how many mph that took off of the overall speed... prob not too much the car's pretty aerodynamic
one thing i'd recommend to anyone looking to take theirs on the track is to get DOT 4 brake fluid (if you haven't already) put in. the pedal was getting slightly squishy toward the end and if you saw at the end the brakes were smoking lol... that speed is addicting, you just don't want the straight to end! the end of that straight is that .01% of the time when you wish you had the carbon ceramics but the standard brakes are pretty up to the task

Last week we had a Lapping Day at Circuit Mont-Tremblant with the Viper Club, where we do 7 x 20 minutes stints, one per hour. I went with the Viper and my son brought the E63 so we could try it on the track : Boy does it fly ! I was amazed at how easy it is to track, riding like on a cloud compared to the Viper and how fast the car would accelerate when coming out of a slow turn, as I could easyly catch the Porshe GT3 RS that was in front of me in the turns. The Ceramik brakes have plenty of stopping power, altough when I came back to the pits, I tought the car was on fire as a huge cloud of smoke was coming from the rear brakes (4 times what you see in the video above), but I was told it was normal as this was the first time they were really pushed to their limits for 20 minutes. On the back stretch I got up to 137 mph, compared to 140 in the Viper and 130 in the CTS-V.
Overall I was impressed to find out that the E63 is a street car that's good on the track, where the Viper is a track car that's good on the street. Having both is heaven for me !

there was even more smoke before i started recording, and everyone also said it was a kinda normal thing to happen. i actually just got back from getting DOT 4 put in it which'll probably not make a noticeable difference lol... now i'm addicted and want to drive on a track some more, maybe with a tune, downpipes, and intake it'll be passing 170 next time
