So true. I can't tell you how many I've contacted vendors on this forum with those deep imaginary discounts. It's usually a ploy to get you to contact them and when you get the price there is no discount at all.

Due to massive interest (actually none) I've tried to reply to all PM's (none that are real) and will continue the member and non member pricing for the next five days (and forever) only!!!

I'm a vendor and I agree with you guys. We have a section on here for vendor discussions and I have brought this up as well. The vendor section has very little activity in it. I suggested that vendors would not be allowed to bump a thread. I think the thread should be written in a way that promotes discussion amongst the forum members and that the thread should be bumped because members are interacting with it.
I know that when I see these "Thanks for your orders," "All PM's replied," and a bunch of other vendors replies that it is all bull****. If people didn't get interest in your thread in the first place, stop jamming it down everyone else's throat.
These forums are all dying because they have become so commercialized and it's bad for all of us, vendors included.
It would be great if we could have a set of rules established for the vendors that prevents them from using a lot of the tactics that they use, it's just a cheap sales pitch and does nothing for them or the forum. Nobody on here is buying most of the crap that they are selling.
I'm a vendor that uses the forum to peddle some of my products but I am with you 100% on cleaning it up around here. I'll be the first one to say that I am on board for cleaning the place up and I think it can be thoroughly improved with a couple of vendor rules. I will talk to Internet Brands and see what they say.

On some other non-automotive forums, I've noticed that a "Commercial Marketplace" forum is helpful...they can even break it down by the particular market they want (wheels, etc.) I can't imagine how annoying it must be for the vendor and the forum subscriber to sit there and post/read the same exact wheel advertisement in every chassis forum. Just my 2 cents...I like to see vehicle specific info, people sharing and learning and members enthused about their car more than all these "aggressive pricing" posts and "PM me for best pricing" . Now say, a vendor comes on and posts something about a certain product with a breakdown of installation and some tips and tricks and reasons why something works/proof something works, great..go for it.
