I'm fairly happy with the the exhaust note after removing the resonator, but I'm curious how the exhaust would sound with both resonator+mufflers removed. The F10 M5 sounds pretty good with the mufflers removed. In fact, there are a few companies selling muffler delete pipes for the F10 M5.

Everyone that has removed their resonators on the m157 motor are you guys tuned or stock? Just curious if at all if it feels any more or less sluggish in the bottom end after removing the resos with straight pipes as I did so on my 2012 jeep srt8 and I did lose back pressure and low end immediately (so I reversed it and went back to stock).

I would be wary about doing a muffler delete, haven't heard anyone doing it, wouldn't that result in loss of power?...just go with resonator delete, I love how it sounds and think its just right...anyone who drives behind me who I talk to afterwards say the car sounds like a beast..

little bit of drone, not too bad. I like it, I am a young person though ahah someone like my dad probably wouldnt care for it too much. I did a muffler delete with straight pipes and left the resonator in! I love the new sound on start up, cold starts are insane now! My favorite mod ive done for 200 bucks. Drove with my friends F10 M5 with an RPI exhaust that he paid over 3-4k for im sure and this sounds just as good!

will try to post a video later this week! i love this mod, with the tune it makes the exhaust sound amazing!!! i am younger and dont mind the drone, it sounds mean though under rev! only thing i worry about is that my phone wont be able to capture the true sound of the video! ill try my best though. I have muffler delete with the res still in. still deciding if i wanna take that out or not

Couldn't find a more suitable thread to ask a few lame questions, maybe someone with our exhaust systems and exhausts knowledge in general can answer?
Input data: W212 E63S RWD.
Needs: increase the volume of exhaust sound a bit (i.e. not cat-less) keeping AMG growl.
Ideas/Questions:
1) Install RADO down-pipes with "sport" cats. According to RADO no CEL should appear, ever. Don't know if that's true in reality (i.e. after some decent mileage) or not. I don't want to go with ECU tuning just yet (until the warranty is over).
2) Now the question is whether with 1-cat solution from RADO the OEM resonator will eventually die?
3) If the answer to (2) above is YES, then my idea would be installing an H-Pipe from Supersprint afterwards the RADO catted down-pipes, keeping the OEM mufflers. However, would the mufflers then eventually die (i.e. burn through)?
