M157 MCT 7 Speed Powerband
Hey guys,
Somewhat of a noob question here, coming from an M156 7G C63 car, I noticed my tuned CLS63 doesn't have the kickdown power that my C63 had. What I mean is, I can't find the sweetspot for the gear kickdown. The pull of the car is extremely linear and I don't get that surge from kicking down a few gears like I did in my C63. I found this odd since the CLS is TT, I expected there to be a noticeable "kickdown" effect to take place once the boost kicked in. So I'm not sure if it's a combination of several factors like additional weight, the way the boost is applied in the M157 or the MCT tranny that vary from the C63 that contribute to this, so I just wanted to ask...Is this normal and what gear/mph do you normally feel your M157 car is the strongest?
For those wondering, yes I routinely perform a TCU reset to help liven up the car. It does help noticeably in terms of initial tip-in throttle response but doesn't fix the overall problem I'm describing.
Thanks in advance!

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
I feel the same way... Cruising at 70mph on the highway I expect more of a kickdown than I get with WOT, I get more kickdown with manual and dropping manually

There is about a 1k difference in redline between the two cars. In my case, anyways, I can't get in the E63 and drive it the same as the 507. I will either stay in S+ and kick down two gears, or just stay in 'M' and keep revs somewhere in the 4k range. You are going fast, just don't notice it due to the power delivery and heavier weight of the car.

The power delivery of the TT cars is much less violent than the NA 63s, but I assure you ...you are going much faster than the C63. The linear and progressive TQ delivery is deceiving.
