100k mile e63... too much?

Nope, but the guy has it so it should be tested today. Surely it will come back clean, but hey it was free to do because of my dad so why not. Because if it came back with traces of coolant in it.... obviously the deal would be off. Really hope it doesn't though because im getting super excited

Oil was sent off to a lab of ExxonMobil's and it came back flawless. No traces of anything foreign. Oil hasn't been changed in 4000 miles though, so if i get the car that will be the first thing i do.

Thanks guys! Just signed the papers this morning and should be receiving the check for the car today. Dealer is putting two new back tires on it too. I'm super excited, i fell in love with the car after driving it (first time driving one) and loved how quality everything felt. Felt like a solid vehicle. Transmission felt great. One of the quirks of my truck i hated, the 6L80E 6 speed transmission it comes with has a problem where it slips ever so slightly in between 2nd and 3rd, people call it the "2-3 flare shift". It can be tuned out by someone that knows what they are doing. I only know of one guy in Victoria, TX that claims he can eliminate it. I will miss my truck for sure considering all of the things i have put on it in the past few months but surely this car will be great.
Radar detector is a must. Just don't know which one to go with.

Well, kind of bad news, not really though. I can't get it tomorrow because the check for my truck hasn't made it in. I have work all next week so im sending my dad down to get the car for me and bring it to me Monday. He'll get a kick out of it, He was heavy into Mercedes from the late 70's to early 2000's so itll be fun for him

Oh ya, one thing about the pre 2012 e63amgs is they sound much better, they are a very solid and well built car and you don't have to worry about turbos going out on you. That's one fear I have if I end up keeping my car over 3 more years when the warrantee runs out is that I fry a turbo to the tune of 8 to 10 grand. Good luck with the car, I hope it works out well for you.

Mercedes changed the head bolts starting some time in mid 2010 so if you are really lucky and have a later 2010 model you may not have to worry about it. There is a lot of information on the C63 board that will give you the engine numbers that are affected. Get a data card and it will have all of the relevant information on it.
My SL63 has the M156 engine in it and I really like it. Up to 40k miles and haven't had to do anything with it except regular maintenance.
Enjoy the new ride.

Visit a MB dealer in Houston and go talk to the service manager, tell him what you're about to do and see if he can make time for you to bring it in so he can give it a thorough check
Hell, I'd even tell him how you'll be SOL if it has issues, but you fell in love with it, basically give him reason to want to make sure you don't get screwed
Best $$$ you'll ever spend given the circumstances

I didn't see anyone suggest this yet, and I think it is the bare minimum you should do

picked the car up earlier, put about 600 miles on it today, did awesome. I love it already.
It was in MB of north Houston for scheduled maintenance at 98k, but i will be bringing it to a dealer in Dallas i have good connections with to be looked at. I would not have bought the car if it wasn't for the extensive service records and MB of Houston claiming it all checked up. Really can't find anything wrong with the car. Grille has some nicks on it but other than that there are no problems. Very sleepy, driving my beater to work tomorrow until i can find a safe spot to park

When my front grille got nicks in it I purchased an oem grille, its easy to replace.
Here is the link to where I purchased mine. http://www.partsdiscounters.com/?p=c...=front%20grill

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Great. Now you're getting me to think about getting a M156 again. Now with cooling fans automatically running after the engine has shut down, that shouldn't happen too often, right?

sweet. Looking to order the AMG door pins soon because these are horrible ha. Then i should paint the reflectors. What do you guys recommend to clean the exhaust tips? Mine are so nasty.
