B3 Service Question

I read on this site somewhere that the B3 service for (my 2011 E63 - 40k miles, 4-1/2 years old) car is simply the following:

Oil change
Oil filter
Cabin Filter _ don't need since I just did this
Battery check

Dealer tells me the following and cites that the car is 4 years old as main reason:

Oil change
Oil filter
Engine Air filter - $140
Flush brakes $110 - Since car had all new rotors and pads put on it when I bought it I doubt that this should be necessary.
Service Trans - $510 !!!!!
Cabin Filter - Don't need per above
Battery check - don't need since battery is 6 months old.

Does this sound right?

The trans service seems like a fleece to me. Car only has 40k miles

And I am guessing the air filter(s) are easily installed by me? They were on my 2000 E55.

Trans service is important even at 40K in my opinion but you can definitely get it done cheaper (and done right) at an indy.

Refer to your service manual. Dealers frequently try to sell services that aren't required.

Flushing brake lines at 4 years old is a good idea, if it hasn't been done yet

And Indy can service that trans as well and is a great idea on this 7g-problematics.... I mean 7g-tronic mct transmissions

40,000 mile service

You should absolutely have the transmission fluid changed and also consider having the differential fluid changed.
The price they quoted is reasonable.

Changing the brake fluid should be done at least once every two years. The fluid is hydroscopic and if too much moisture is present, you'll corrode your brake system.

If you want to save money, change your own oil, oil filter, cabin filter and engine air filter. These are very easy to do.

500.00 for the transmission service on newer cars is not unusual. It cost over 600.00 for my Hyundai Genesis which has the same ZF transmission as some Bentleys, Jaguars etc.
fYI my Mercedes dealer charges about 450.00 for the transmission service on my E63 and provides a loaner.

Yes trans service is important, I've heard at 40K miles it can come out pretty dirty, the first one is the most important, I'll probably never service my trans again after this one. Never liked the idea of servicing trans oil with cars over 100K mile if I get that far owning this car as at the higher mileages it sometimes can do more harm than good. But ya, I'm paying 500 bucks to have mine done on Tuesday, ya a indy shop could probably do it for a couple hundred less but I figure I've got a better shot of getting it done right at the dealer since they do these all the time. It is a little bit of a tricky procedure and requires the star diagnostic too, some indy shops may not even have this. Also as stated the brake flush every couple is important too, I'm having that done also, just changed the oil myself recently so that's all set. The dealers giving me a loaner for the day and always does a good job cleaning up the car washing it, dressing the tires and vacuuming out the interior as a courtesy.
