i just installed a UPD intake kit on my stock 15 E63S and the first thing i noticed is that i now get some tire spin on the rears from a launch in Sport+ with traction off and 1st gear, which previously never happened.
i was kind of surprised when i first drove the car and thought i hit some moisture spots on the street but its done it many times now on dry surfaces so while not a dyno test this intake kit (to me) seems to add some power and also the throttle feel (to me, again) seems more responsive. i've never dyno'd, but been relying on my dashcommad app for data on HP/torque/0-60 so will see what those read with the Filters in compared to my baseline stock but i definitely feel improvement above stock performance (will add that my stock filters were dirty so getting new clean filters had to help).
here are some pics...its a 30 min install unless you drop one of the aluminum barrel spacers in the engine bay and have to dig around to find it like i did (yes, dumb *** move...)
thanks to shardul for the great service and answering my questions and sending me the replacement barrel spacer which i never found
some pics.
UPD intake kit and parts for M157 / E63
Red rectangular spacer, with Green Filter #7171 and longer screws/barrel spacers
OEM filter - pretty dirty, airboxes had to be cleaned out also
passenger side view
driver side view
nice touch adding the aluminum spacer for the front small air box covers on each side so they are flush with the rest of the airbox
install complete, less the engine cover
all buttoned up... nice inexpensive mod if you are stock to get a noticeable little bump in power and performance

fits fine to me... easily snaps into the intake box and is flush with the lower covers and maybe sits 1 inch above the ECU which i dont even notice. there is zero vibration noise or rattling so seems fine from what i can tell. heres a short vid of my install....

I now have these installed on both my 14 E63s and 16 GL63 and could not be happier. Throttle response in both is immediate and the E63s is now just insane. The GL63 feels quicker, especially off the line. Great bang for the buck!

Shardul, did you guys even look into spacers for the ECU mounst, to get it flush? Not really an issue, but my OCD makes me a bit crazy sometimes. If not I might just try to fashion something on the lathe out of delrin.

Working on the M113k, it took me roughly 2 hours. The filter itself wasn't bad (take out, put in 15 minutes). It was the damn spacers. Not enough room in the back to place the spacer and have them not fall out of place. Then lining it up with the holes was the next step that enraged me. Made sure it was completely sealed all around. I think next time I take out filters to clean, I will just skip using the spacers.
I can hear the sound slightly more with the radio and a/c off, otherwise no real change.
Shardul can you let me know what the size of the longer bolts are or parts #? I lost one while trying to align the spacer into the depths of the engine but saved the spacer.

Need some paper work that shows the increases... a video link would be even better because I could take a picture of a Lamborghini post it and whos to know the difference.
