Should I hold out for the '17 E63?

Should I hold out for the '17 E63?
Hey guys, I'm new here, loving this forum! I have a quick question, I've been looking at leasing the new E63s amg. But I saw that the '17 model is undergoing a pretty big remodeling along with the c63s (which will look sick in my opinion), but anyways,
Is it worth it to hold out for the new 2017 63 amg or just start leasing the current year e63? (I'm a huge fan of the aggressive look of the current year, not a big fan of the back to be honest of the '17)
Thanks!

I was looking at that since I just totaled my 14 wagon, but was told it would be mid to late next year before they come out. That might be wrong, but the amg models typically come out towards the end of the refresh.
And for leasing, just make sure you ask about purchasing. They typically don't have special rates for amg's so the monthly payment is higher than if you buy. At least that was how it turned out for me, and there is very little reason to put money down on a lease. Obviously you can just turn in a lease so maybe a higher payment is worth being able to walk away. So it just depends on what you are looking for.

the newer car will undoubtedly be a bit faster but the engine is gonna be a 4 liter instead of the current 5.5 liter, so i can't see it having quite that same low down punch. i'm sure the affalterbach wizards will find some way to give it more low rpm torque than should be possible but we shall see. i say W212 for the looks alone lol...

Thanks for the response Edward! Quick questions..
So I was going to do MSDs as they're accepted in where I'm from, so going to trade my car in as a MSD deposit on top of my initial deposit. So about 30k in MSD deposit, and then negotiate the money factor.
I did a little math, and it comes out to about 1030 a month for 36 months with that MSD deposit (which I'll get back) and hopefully a lower than 3% interest rate.
Is that plausible? Hopefully the cap cost for me a current new will be around 103? If I negotiate a free package+free maintenance.
I was wondering if this is doable. Thank you!

The aggressive stance of the current year is mean and beautiful

I went to the Detroit auto show, where they had a few 2017 E class, but no AMG. Sitting in the regular models I found the back side of the new seats to be narrower than the current W212 and I really did not feel comfortable. I'm 6' and 225 lbs with wide shoulders and feel totally comfy in my 2015 model. Looks like the new one is made for skinny people.

I looked at a video after reading your comment about feeling uncomfortable in the seats.... Unless this guy is 300lbs the seats do look very narrow. I'm 6'3" and my AMG is the only car I've ever owned that I don't need to push the seat back as far as it will go and it's plenty wide for my broad shoulders. I wouldn't fit in the 2017 model seats.

Exactly, it's the higher part of the backrest that's benn narrowed with an annoying bulge behind each shoulder.
Detroit to Montréal was a 11 hour trip both ways, and I felt better in my 2015 at the end of the day than 5 minutes in the new 2017 one. Sorry but besides this, the rest of the interior is really top notch.

Are you looking for a sedan or wagon? Sedans will be first delivered in May/June of this year. Wagons won't hit the US until November. The 4.0L engine gets rave reviews, and I did like how it felt in the new C63, but for me, there's something about the sound of the 5.5L (and the 6.2 even more so) that makes me not care about the other advancements in the new model. Probably a stupid move on my part, but I'm getting one of the last 2016 wagons ever built.

I would wait for the new model. I'm sure there will be other added features as well. As for the low down punch, its a turbo so I'm sure it will be just fine. You'd think we were talking about a 2.0L turbo here which BTW can rip the tires up just fine so a 4.0L is nothing to worry about.

I am guessing here
But I think most people are happier in the long run waiting for the new model than are people who get the last year of a model line
Very scientific stuff I know, but just saying

Assuming you're paying anywhere near sticker, I also vote wait. For that much dough on the soon to be prev-gen, I know that I'd look awfully enviously upon the new model each and every time I saw one. The prev-get will look old awfully quick and the tech will be dated (it's already dated today) plus you won't have saved much $ to offset it. I'd totally wait!
If you're going to buy used today, then the potential ~$25k savings over new is nothing to sneeze at. Case in point is the '15 E63 S wagon posted by Isringhausen in the W212 AMG sub-forum today.
Opinions vary, of course, but I think the new E int is to die for. I'm lukewarm to the ext, but expect it'll be more striking in person than pics.

ahh sorry for late response, didn't give me notifications! But I'm looking at specifically the sedan. It's funny you say that because the guy at the dealership told me that the e63 amg s model won't be out until mid year next year!

I want to wait it out if it comes out this year, but man the back of the '17 model I feel like it's trying to look monogamous as other merc models like a c-class although the c-class especially the new c63 is looking like the s63 coupe!
But I love love love! the aggressive stance of the current year e63 sedan, but is the technology really that outdated?

Want the latest media interface and GUI, an all digital dash? Get the '17
The interior of the new 63 will blow away this current interior and I think this current interior is fairly nice and comfortable
All the current tech works fine for me, though I do wish the sound system was a bit nicer sounding and more bass, and the iPod interface could be a bit nicer. The LED headlights are awesome and I can't imagine then getting much better ... Wish the interior led's were better like with the s class
I'm too.busy driving to care more about the tech.

The tech is only as outdated as what you want from your tech

Looks like I got some thinking to do... Thanks Peter. Are you by any chance good at leasing financing?

wait for the new model, it will be out at the end of summer and you will likely be able to order/build sometime in late April. I was considering ordering one but ended up ordering something much different (G63).
