Just ordered a Rebellion Automotive piggyback tune

Yep finally pulled the trigger.

I don't want to bench flash my car just yet.

The Rebellion Automotive box seems to manipulate Boost, Cam Timing, and Fuel Pressure. It's also adjustable based on the fuel you feed it.

I'm hoping to strap it onto the local dyno, and compare the difference and see how far I can push it before I start getting knock/misfires.

Car is a 2016 E63S AMG 4Matic. So I'll be interested to see what the actual gains are since its a S and everyone compares to a non S.

Also, not to be a shill but it's on sale for like $300 GBP off right now. I paid 689 instead of the 999 I think it usually is.

we'll see if its worth it.

I put one on my car and have the check engine light on now, haven't had time to see what code but the car does feel faster and gained about 63hp on the dyno.

Hmm, I wonder what your code is. Could be a misfire code from having it turned up too much. Did you leave your box set at 4?

I also had the check engine light after installation a few months ago, which will go off if bypassed. Eventually had them send me a replacement unit, and it has worked flawlessly since then. One thing that was different with replacement unit that I got was the Harness. The original one sent was extremely long, while the replacement was much shorter and made for a very easy installation and concealment.

I have never put the car on a dyno, but it definitely pulls harder and feels a lot faster. Not withstanding, I have also decided to go for a full tune, and will probably put mine up for sale on the forum. Paid an 689 which came out to about $1,100 at the time and has been used about 4 months.

More than a year now with mine installed and still happy! 60 HP prooved on dyno also (went with SilveRT8 last march and both cars showed same gain). IMO the best option for those of us who dont want to mess with ECU!
