2013 E63 with p30
I just cannot make my mind up. This will be my daily driver I currently have lexus gs460. So not scared of winters or rear wheel drive, with winter tires the car is a beast. Just wondering if this is too much car for winter and might regret it. Love the fact the lexus is trouble free. I expect some routine maint etc, just don't want to get into headaches with such a powerful car. I am good with maint and upkeep so not afraid of spending money but don't want to throw it away.
Insurance also goes up by 200/yr.
I am thinking maybe the 2014 awd might be a better choice, but like the 2013 style and stance. Can you guys help me make up my mind.
also the 2014 is going to be about ~$30K more, so if you dont really have to have the awd, you could use that $$ you save on the 2013 for a separate set of winter tires/rims and have a lot of $$ left over for when the warranty runs out
plus if you prefer the look of the 2013 i would think the price difference would make it a no-brainer to go to the 2013 unless you live on some super snowy tristy mountain roads

For most, the thrill of the car makes up in the end for the niggles
Also in comfort mode with winters this car is no different than any other rear wheel drive with traction control
The insurance is negligible I think at this price point ... It's $1000 more for five years of ownership
It's a huge leap though from a cush jap SUV that's trouble free to a rwd monster that's a Benz
You should be buying this car because you want a thrill each and every time you drive to work, and if you're not sure you want this car after you test drive it... Move on.
Mid-Indiana winter will certainly be no problems at all if you have a good set of winter tire. If you're still worrying about winter, go with a square set-up with X-Ice XI3 245/40-18 for max winter traction and for sure you'll be fine unless you're trying to go up ice covered steep hill at ski places. Yes, 18" will still fit the front up to 2013.

PS - worrying about insurance is like asking about MPG. Doesnt really matter when you are looking at these type vehicles IMO

I can tell you this much that- every time you'll start your car- you'll be happy you choose AMG unless ofcourse everytime you start it - you get a error on display lol
A performance car especially AMG - just has a different feeling to it.
If money is no problem -then wait a little bit for 2016 model lol I'm hearing good things about it-apparently it might even have
9 speed gearbox

I have had an M5 in MA and WA with winter tires and no issues, so I wouldn't worry about that.
That seems like a great deal for that car; am I wrong guys?
For 2014 you get AWD, small power bump, LED lights, 360o cameras, optional B&O BeoSound, and a cool Swiss clock. Maybe other stuff? The refresh looks different not necessarily better.
AWD drive will eàt mi/gal, top speed, and acceleration over 100 mi/h due to increased mass and friction. Might keep you from dying with 600 hp if you have a lead foot.
