W212 AMG Discuss the W212 AMG's such as the E63

Seems like over 50% of E63s are black, another 20% are white :(

Resale value should not even be in the discussion with regards to German Super Sedans (and many other cars). My M5 has lost 80% of it's MSRP in 10 years. These cars drop in value equally as fast.

I also hear people talk about "don't own these cars out of warranty!" Okay. So it is okay to lose $50k in depreciation, but not okay to put $10k-$20k into repairs 10 years down the line?

who said it was okay?

that's why many current owners bought in used with ELW/Certified Preown. I don't F with DE depreciation nor DE "super sedan" repair prices. Neither does anyone else I know.

They don't say it, because they are not thinking rationally. I have heard plenty of people on here, another MB board, and the F10/E60 M5 crowd, who all bought new, talk depreciation.

Why cute quote the word super sedan? That is what they are.

I agree totally! I read the same comments and I don't understand. I have a 1999 Mercedes that still runs great and repair cost are a lot less than the cost of a new car.

I just sold my 2007 E350 with 96K miles on it. The one major repair I had was the transmission valve body ($2K) but other than that tires were my most costly repairs.. It ran great when I sold it and looked brand new. I think I got such a good deal on my E63 because the warantee had just expired (only 18K on it). I purchased an extended warantee and was still far under the book value.. I was more than happy with my purchase. Hopefully it holds ups up half as well as my E350.

My 2015 wagon is mocha black with auburn interior with standard walnut burl. It is subtle, especially de-badged. My last ride was '11 wagon in cuprite brown with chestnut brown interior. I just had to get out of the Teutonic paradigm of black, grey or white!
I would post pics, but like black models, my dark color in Vermont mud looks really bad, and washing is not an option until April, when I go to Florida.
