rear diff problem
I launched my car today in dyno mode and noticed that there is only one tire patch on the road. I do not have a p30 car but aren't all these cars supposed to have some form of lsd.
Should also mention it's a 2012 e63 bi turbo

Driving your car in dyno mode is dangerous. Don't risk rowing your car out of a ditch.
The reason one tire mark is because dyno mode disables the ESP traction control that uses the brakes to put power down through both wheels.

This is very disappointing, I always thought that these AMG cars still had some form of LSD, some form of percentage of locking. My last SL55 would smoke both tires in dyno mode and it did not have any special options.

I don't know about your car, but I've had one tire spinning many times because of the ridiculous lack of LSD. My 91 mustang had it, its sad that Mercedes bills it as an option. I tried race mode, what a waste, one tire sat there and went up in smoke.

I think I'll pass on the 14 even tho I love the front end. I'm heading to the track April 16th when it opens. After a few track days if I can't get some decent 60's than I'll probably bite the bullet on a Quafie

main thing that makes our cars more manageable to launch is the mct tranmission lag which i hate lol

Ok, I was out the other evening practicing launching my car and noticed that both tires are laying patches now. This makes no sense to me. The only thing different is that last time I was in Dyno mode, and this time I just turned off traction control. I also went to the dealer for a print out of my car build sheet and there is definitely no LSD option.

It's using the brakes to control single wheel traction lose.
Don't use dyno mode. It's dangerous and it's not fun towing your car out of a ditch. Stability control is your friend.

On my RWD C63 I had the factory LSD and could leave nice double parallel black lines (often curved while I drifted it around). While you can leave "11's" without an LSD it's nearly impossible to leave double curved lines without an LSD.
I know on the C63 platform the aftermarket wavetrac LSD was popular as well as the quaife for those who didn't get one from the factory. I'd invest in an LSD if you don't have one.
I miss turning the safety nannies off and smoking the tires as I tossed that C63 sideways. I was on my 3rd set of tires when I traded in that car with 7500 miles. The AWD E63 just goes in any direction without the drama which is mostly a good thing.

Give your Vin to a MB service dept and have them do a print out of what the car had from the factory, it's a good document to have, even sales should be able to do a printout

Funny cause I've got the factory LSD and I'm still laying down one wheel peels. Just ordered a wave trac. I'll get this installed and we'll see how it goes. If any one here has wave trac...are there issues with esp traction codes after install?
