You can drive in any mode you want. Just make sure the car is properly warmed up. If Mercedes didn't want you to drive in those modes they could just disable it until you reach the mileage but clearly that isn't the case.

Drive it in any mode but heed the rest of stated advice

I had a hard time the first 1500 miles to drive it "easy"

Both and use the AMG mode on the dash to make sure you are up to temps before to drop the hammer.
