Aftermarket Exhaust and Warranty

So i've had my new '16 wagon for 2 weeks now, but I want it louder. I'm wondering what experience people on this board have had in regards to warranty if they went to an aftermarket exhaust or downpipes.

Has you dealer given you any issues? I also want to get a tune but from what i've heard some dealers will void engine warranty for that and some won't.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Going with catless downpipes gives the perfect sound in my opinion but if you just want better sound and you're at all worried about your warranty then just delete the resonator or stick with an aftermarket muffler swap.

Yeah everyone I have talked to has said downpipes, but I just have the question about warranty. I guess I can ask the dealership and see what they say. That'll give me a definitive answer.

I think it partly depends on the attitude of your particular service dealership. I've had cars where the dealership is anti-modification and no doubt if I had claimed they would have given me grief (I have never claimed on anything before that would be vaguely mod related). In contrast my current Mercedes service centre (an actual Mercedes place, not independent) seems to have no issue, they are in fact fitting my downpipes today. After all, if you have something that needs fixing they are going to get paid either way, it's their choice to either bill MB or you.

So an update on what I've done so far.
I took it in to a shop today and we decided to remove the secondary cat and resonator and just put straight pipe.

It turns out that there is no secondary cat but just another small resonator. The guy working on it said that seems new as other amgs he's worked on like 15 and older C63 have always had 2 cats.

In any case removing both resonators has made a noticeable difference. I can actually hear the vehicle now and it really sounds good when downshifting or upshifting under load.

For those who have done the muffler delete, do you notice much drone? That might be what I do next.
