De-badged rear / blacked-out side badges... best of both worlds (for me).

I dunno man...debadged but retaining the MB star in the middle doesn't look right to me. Really, the whole thing should be debadged IMO.

I've seen your car in other threads and I love your pics. In these pics, did you do a special wax job or any type of ceramic coating?

I like the star because it's a clean, classic logo. I think it adds a just a touch of bling to accent the back.

However, I completely understand why you'd like a full clean look with no badges. Someone also told me that the main logo is attached with more than just glue. Might have a hole or something, but I have not verified that myself

Yeah no, I can understand why you did it. Hell, I've done it on my own car, but I went the whole hog and got the star badge removed. Yes you're right, the star badge has three pilot holes which need to be filled and then you'll want to paint the top area above the chrome strip on the tailgate. It's certainly more of a hassle, but the result...well to me, makes it worth the trouble. Here's a few (poor) shots of my car:

Without the badges, it looks like the car could be a run-of-the-mill late model Honda Accord, or.......heaven forbid......a Beemer!!

Debadged the car the day I got it, been debating ever since if I should put it back in gloss black or not... However I do think the sides look great without the badging, sometimes I find it's a little too nondescript though.

Thanks for all of the pictures guys! I'm definitely sold on removing the back badges (except the star), but had been really flip flopping on whether to remove the side badges. My car is getting a clear bra right now, and since they are removing the side badges anyway, I told them to leave them off for now. There's a decent chance I'll put them back on.

Will post pics when I pick up the car later this week.

This chop Looks amazing. I for one hate all the chrome, so I black out all my badges right away. But this looks great too, without the star.

I see your point, but I do want to retain the star. I think I am going to black it out, like I did the side badges.

Thank you!! Those were taken a couple of days after a full detail at California Detailing on Fell. Their finish is unlike anything I've ever seen.

I went for the full de-badge when I got my Xpel and OptiCoat put on. I have some photos from the detailer, but 1) they're a tad out of focus, 2) the reflection on the car shows all the stuff on the ground, so it looks like the car's dirty when it's actually spotless, 3) the photo angles are whack.

I'll try to take better pictures this weekend.

I'm absolutely loving the back; still a bit mixed on the sides. I may put the "V8 Biturbo" back on.
