How is the ride comfort and noise? Bridgestones are on sale this month and these are much cheaper than the Conti Sportcontact 5Ps or the Pilot Supersports. Thanks.
I was surprised at how good they are in this respect. I swapped out my oem wheels and original tires because my car was supplied with AMG 18's and higher profile tires, and I was looking for better grip. My car has Renntech tuning and headers and would spin as if I was on ice when I pushed it. The new wheel/tire combo has improved grip, and the ride has not suffered at all in Comfort mode. When I switch the suspension to firm, it feels firmer than before, inspiring more confidence on smooth roads. I don't use firm on uneven roads...it is not jarring but you can feel the road irregularities in the cabin.
Here is a Tire Rack comparison. Michelin Pilot Super Sports rank first, followed by these Bridgestones. I have the Michelins on another car and they are excellent.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I saw the Tire Rack review, but always interested in the opinion of someone who has tried the tires on the same car. Looks like I'm headed to Costco to try these out.
I have the Pilot SS on my SLK and agree they are great tires!
Your car looks fantastic with the BBS wheels. What size and offset are the wheels and what size are the tires? Love BBS wheels. I guess that shows my age. Used to have a red BMW in the 80s with gold BBS wheels and the a Mercedes 190 with platinum BBS wheels that were a perfect match for the smoke silver paint on the 190.
