Should I?

Hello all

I'm new here

I own a 2012 e63 amg bought 11 months ago as cpo. Paid for an extra two years of warranty. so I have about 3 years of unlimited miles warranty. over 2 months ago long story short-random misfires-dicovered wear in the coating in the block-bottom end engine rebuild. I should get the car back next week. the car has about 60k miles on it. I'd like to get a bit more out of the car without getting messed up on warranty if something goes wrong. I'm thinking about the intermediate renntech tune(I live not too far from them) and some exhaust work. any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

no offense, but your car just got a huge warranty job and your ECu was likely under scrutiny before they approved the warranty job, now you want to go and get a tune which would definitely put that warranty at risk. Unless you plan on dumping the car fairly soon I would just be very careful. If you don't care about the Warranty, get a tune and enjoy the car, life is short.

thanks for your feedback

No offense taken at all. I didn't think about them scrutinizing ecu. I'm very new to this all my "performance" cars were 70's cars with carburetors lol

I am in South Florida and have lat least 5 different benz dealerships I could take the car to. Also is there an easy way to update the ecu back to stock if something was to happen before taken in? I know if the dealership overwrites the flash renntech will retune for like $100

My bigger question is what are peoples opinion on the rest of the components handling the tune like the turbos, piping, sensors etc?

You could either go with the Rebellion tune or buy another CPU and have it tuned. If you tune your CPU it will be detected even if tuned back to stock before going in for service/repairs.

I have and would recommend the full Renntech tune. You live in Florida and they tune for your 93 Octane fuel.

They will copy your factory ecu tune in the event you ever want to return it back to stock. They told me no one can detect their reflash back to stock and they have many Mercedes dealers nationwide who will do the R&R for you if you don't want to do it yourself. I believe the dealer list is still on their website.

I have had their tune on my wagon for over two years now with no issues.

I just got their full tune and love it. Pulls really strong. When i received the CPU back from them I looked for signs of drilling but couldn't find any though it looks to me like RT had painted the CPU cover. It could have just been cleaned really well but it looks like it was painted.
