Radio Shutting off after a 5-10 minutes
Hello all,
I play my radio via BT CD USB. After a few minutes it would shut off. I tried playing with the IGN o,n no luck, The car has to stay running for it to keep playing. My other 63 would play until I shut it off.
If I try to turn the radio on by pressing knob sometimes it turn back on sometime it would not.. But the radio is fulyl off as I see the MB logo loading up.Is my batter going south 2014 27k miles.
My car has wrnty and would it be covered.

you play your cars stereo while the engine is OFF and you expect it to stay on indefinitely as is your past experience ...
the car is likely protecting the battery and shutting the stereo and amplifiers off. You could get your battery checked they should be able to do that no charge

that's right Peter, the car does shut off the audio after a while if the ignition is off.
I haven't timed it myself, but think it's in the order of 10-20minutes.

Hmmm
I am going to time it with ign on/off and see how long it takes.
if cleaning the car I cant even get one wheel completed before it turn off.
I like my tunes when working on the car

This feature is not such a bad idea. You can run a battery down fairly fast with these higher powered sound systems. And even more so when you have an additional 1200W Sub!

Vrod...even withthe ign ON it will shutdown
I am never around the car until it goes off... I am going to sit inside and wait for the message like you mentioned.
To me it is not even 5 minutes or maybe 10 before its off.
Is there a way to bring the volt guage like the older E63...hidden menu for digital volt read out

You should get the message. I get it every time. It's really not a big deal to me. Just run the engine for about a minute every 15 to 20 minutes.
Be interesting to see if your shutoff time gets longer if you do the same thing without ignition on. Your time may quite possibly be increased I would think.
Good Luck

As far as voltage, I just connect my OBDII to dash and I can read voltage after some menu selections. You can buy an OBDII on ebay for less than $100 I believe.

Found the Fix
Played songs off USB same vol lasted 13 minuted...
Lower the base and treb to the center mark.
Played again same songs via UBS and never turned off...its kept playing....
seem like the base is sucking up the volts....
no big deal I am happy to know it was not an issue with electrical items..

Hmm, so I guess if I dial the bass and treble all the way to nil it will truly last forever if I also turn off the screen.
