Engine removal, what to look for?
So my car is at the dealer getting ready to remove the engine in order to replace the insulation pad due to rat damage. My SA said he would check everything while the engine is out to see if anything needs to be replaced. Is there anything I should specify for him to check? My car has 46k miles.

What's the insulation pad?
how did you know you had problems and what therefore prompted you to bring it to Benz? Is rat damage covered by your auto insurance ?

Not nice to brag on a public forum so i'll just say thats far from the truth.
I'll have them take a close look at the rear main seal. Don't think turbos are happening
The insulation pad is what keeps heat away from the cabin. It's between the firewall and engine. I noticed it a while back but didn't feel like messing with it. Basically the rat/s ate up some of it so it looks chewed up.I figured since the insurance is covering the bill I might as well take care of it now so that when i'm ready to sell the buyer won't freak out.

Assuming i was to provide the dealer with upgraded turbos what else would it take to get it done aside from removing the old turbos and fitting the new and what would i expect to pay for the turbos?

Transmission front seal.
I am sure they will look over everything. Have them change any rubber part located behind engine and firewall.. Hoses ...anything that a rat can chew on...
how about DP if not the turbos...

My understanding is DP installation is maybe an hour or two which i'll be happy to pay for when i decide to get them. Anyone know where i can get individual turbos?

I would definitely take this opportunity to fit upgraded turbos and turbo-back downpipes. If you can get turbos directly from a turbo supplier (sorry I can't help there, I haven't looked myself) you should avoid the obscene price of the usual dealers. Then just go to anyone who does custom tuning, you will have a very powerful car at a bargain price. IME the dealers don't care what you get them to do as long as you pay the bill, mine was really happy to fit turbo-back downpipes.
