Most of the time when someone is ejected from the car, they were not wearing a seat
belt.

RIP to one of our own.

With that said, unless he had an ejector seat modification, he he could not possibly have been ejected if wearing a seat belt. So I agree with others pointing this out.

Going to need to show this story to my 18 yo daughter that seems to refuse to wear hers. Not in my car of course as I won't roll until she has it on. But I know the sweet little knucklehead doesn't always wear it when driving on her own.

But to the point, this is truly sad. Even though speed was not cited yet as a factor, it makes me think more about slowing down a bit. Not invincible even in these great cars.

I wasn't trying to mislead anyone with the thread title. Like William Buckley once said to Gore Vidal "If I had known you were going to build a cathedral around that remark, I never would have made it" (lol). That said, speed can kill even if it is not high mph. Just look at this asshat from the Oct 2 Cars and Coffee in Houston. The clown gets out of the car with a "don't worry, I'm ok" swagger, after nearly killing bystanders.

I've been helping to run parking lot cars shows for over 20 years. Can you imagine if someone got hurt? The first people to get sued would be the host venue, in this case the Memorial City Mall. Why? Because a savvy lawyer would claim they should have foreseen the possibility that some schmuck would do exactly what happened. And that would be true. On Sat nights in the mid 2000's we would 300 to 400 cars in a parking lot between WalMart and Garden Ridge. We continually implored the car owners to be careful. Ironically, we got kicked out because an immature young driver made a salacious comment to a woman heading into the Garden Ridge. The manager came out immediately to invite us to leave and never come back. Now we run a once a month show strictly for charity, and recently hired 2 off-duty police to keep order. A shame because it takes a bite out of the charitable donations.

Part Failure maybe

The car rotated so quickly it seem to be that something let go in the rear axle or suspension.
