Girodisc Rotor and Pad Review
I have been experiencing a progressively worsening high speed, high heat braking shudder that MB refused to warranty. They used my vehicle modifications as a pretext for refusing the warranty claim. However, I wasn't overly pissed off because I wanted to install lighter rotors anyway. I ordered Girodisc rotors and the Girodisc SS pads for the front axle of my E63. The Girodisc front rotors are 7 lbs lighter than the stock iron rotors and, unlike the stock units, are full floating. I am very impressed with the quality of these rotors compared to stock. The SS pads have more bite and are supposed to be able to withstand much higher temperatures. I am experiencing no squealing or noise that often accompanies higher performance pads, but they do generate a bit more dust than the stock pads. Now that I have tried the fronts and found them to be superior to stock in every way, I am ordering a set for the rears as well. I purchased for 12% off retail which seems to be the best deal available on the Girodisc products. The install is extremely easy for those of you who are DIY'ers. You will lose the factory electronic wear sensor with these pads. Girodisc also makes a very nice caliper spreader that I highly recommend as well.

i have them on my 211 Wagon and love them - did alot of research and after talking to Girodisc Direct and ACG I was won over - have had them on for about a year now and love them - the only downside is they take 5 mins to warm up on a cold day - other than that Girodisc are the only rotors ill be putting on my AMG in the future -
Closest to buy was RacingBrake but alot of bad press on failure rate -

No warm up needed. They perform just like stock when cold, zero squealing. I ordered the rears today from Competition Motorsport. It seems that Buybrakes is no longer offering discounts on Girodisc products. I got 12% off from Competition Motorsport.

I have this set up as well F + R on my W211 for a few months. So far no squeaks or squeals braking feels better (akebono pads). It's cooling down so I'll monitor colder temp performance.
The guys at Girodisc made for a smooth and informed purchase.

The link you provided shows a price of $629 per front rotor. That equals $1258 for the pair without shipping. Your Girodisc link shows MSRP. My Girodisc fronts were $924 for the set including shipping. The rear OEM's are junk. The entire disc is one piece cast iron including the hat.
and on the fronts shipping, its free on the link i provided...ecs will also ship the rears free
peter asked what the oem cost was and i provided it for him... max anyone should pay for OEM front /rear seat is ~$1600 shipped.... girodisc sets are $2300 from buybrakes.com with $50 off coupon, and $2350 from ams

Are the Girodisc rear rotors more expensive than the Girodisc front rotors? That's what the links show.

For the initial purchase of Girodisc, the rear is more expensive than the front. On the other hand, replacing the Girodisc rear rotors is cheaper than doing so for the front rotors.
BTW, I think the oem front rotors made by Brembo MY2012+ are not true 2-piece but rather 1.5-piece where the hat cannot be separated, right? On the other hand, the ones on MY2010&2011 are true 2-piece even though you cannot buy just the rotors.

FYI for those of you planning on ordering the Girodiscs for your Benz; the discs are available slotted and drilled as well as slotted only. Girodisc highly recommends against the drilled but they make them available for cosmetic reasons only. Also, if you order their pads, make sure you order them with the wear sensor. My fronts came without sensors because Buybrakes never told me they were available with them. However, Competition Motorsports sent the rears with the sensors which is how I discovered that they were available that way. I have over a thousand miles on them now and they are absolutely awesome. Great performance at triple digit speeds and zero noise at any speeds.
