Good job! you will definitely have to clean the pins here and there. I still had trace amounts of oil on my ecu pins a month after replacing a sensor. May want too save those updated sensors if/when your replacements start to leak which is in 4+ years.

Sounds good. I probably will check the ECU every 48 hours or so. The car is driven 15 miles a day tops. And no trips planned.

Next week I will get the car on the lift and pull the o2 sensor plugs and crank sensor plug and clean those as well.

Next month I plan to go up to Eurocharged in Orlando and have them tune the car so Im sure when they open the ECU they can check for any oil that may have made its way in, although I am fairly confident it hasn't yet!

Thanks for all the help, hopefully we can get this out there more so this doesn't plague these platforms.

Didn't get a chance to look at the O2 sensors or crank sensor for oil as they look to be a paint to access however the revised sensors I ordered early November backorder from Germany did arrive.

Thank you for posting this. These codes just showed up at my indy and before moving forward wanted to see what i can find, this is helpful. I'm a little worried about the cost though. Mine is the M157 engine in a 2012 e63 w/P30 & no tune, 72k miles... the issue seems to fit the general description above and i'd agree something that should be checked around this time. Coincidentally, my ECO button stopped lighting up upon start-up a few weeks ago and I thought that it simply got tired of me turning it off . I will report back.

Any advice accessing the bolt on the camshaft magnet behind the passenger side intake tube (pre turbo)?
